You do know that Hillary running is the only reason Trump was elected by the EC? Both parties nominated the two most unpopular candidates in decades. If either side had chosen even a mediocre nominee, that person would sitting in the Oval Office today.

No need to make the case that Trump was getting something of benefit from Ukraine. It's much easier to make the case that Trump abused his power by asking a foreign government to investigate his political opponent.

Fusion GPS is an American firm. But it doesn't matter you can hire anyone you want to do oppo work.

What you can't do is receive gifts or things of value from a foreign entity or government because obviously they would have an agenda. The distinction is significant.

Information isn't a gift, nor something of value. No where in any U.S. law is it defined as such. If it were, Romney's 47% recording and Billy Bush's ***** grabbing audio would have to be considered in-kind donations. The Romney recording would have to be worth tens-of-thousands of dollars, putting the donor way over the individual limit.

Another example would be when Harry Reid said he had evidence that Romney committed tax fraud. That would be another in-kind donation, worth tens-of-thousands of dollars.
