In the course of another discussion I reread some old documents and I came across some passages that rang so true today, I wondered if others might find them familiar and applicable to some other proceedings:

He has refused his Assent to Laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good.

He has forbidden [others] to pass Laws of immediate and pressing importance, unless suspended in their operation till his Assent should be obtained; and when so suspended, he has utterly neglected to attend to them.

He has refused to pass other [measures] for the accommodation of large districts of people,...

He has [transferred public servants to] places unusual, uncomfortable, and distant from the depository of their Public Records, for the sole purpose of fatiguing them into compliance with his measures.

He has refused for a long time, after [vacancies], to cause others to be [appointed], ...

He has endeavoured to ... obstruc[t] the Laws for Naturalization of Foreigners; refusing to pass others to encourage their migrations hither, ...

He has obstructed the Administration of Justice...

He has made Judges dependent on his Will alone for the tenure of their offices, ...

He has ... sent hither swarms of Officers to harass our people ...

He has kept among us, in times of peace, Standing Armies without the Consent of our legislature...

He has combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution, and unacknowledged by our laws...

... cutting off our Trade with all parts of the world...

... imposing Taxes on us without our Consent...

... depriving us in many cases, of the benefit of Trial by Jury:

... transporting [people] beyond Seas to be tried for pretended offences:

... abolishing our most valuable Laws and altering fundamentally the Forms of our Governments...

He has abdicated Government here...

He has excited domestic insurrections amongst us...
Why do these sound so familiar...? Who comes to mind?

Another butt hurt Liberal still crying over an election.

Those are complaints against King George the 3rd from the Declaration of Independence.

They sound familiar because as someone pointed out, they are listed in the Declaration of Independence, so the author Thomas Jefferson comes to mind first.

However, if you are talking about our current period? Then no one I can think of here in the USA.

Of course, you might be from and referring to another country. In that case I can think of several leaders of other nations who fit that list; all in control of Socialist, Communist, Theocratic, Royalist, or other forms of totalitarian regimes.

Still haven't got over it, have you. Trump actually won! Been years now but still every time someone criticises Trump you leap up and declare "Trump won!" I know, I get it, it was a heady, triumphant, surprising moment for you but you have to let it go and move on. Everyone else has, everyone but the most diehard Trumpanzees.
Nothing today is about that election. I know it's hard to let it go but you'll be better for it once you've made the step.

Congratulations! You have won the "fail of the day" award. I know you thought you were being cute, but .... nope, just meaningless effort. You really could have done better, yanno.

You are, literally, correct. But think modernly.

You are comparing the actions of King George the 3rd that were the cause of the revolution to those of Donald Trump's administration.

Well done. And what impressions do you have?

I really meant this to be an interesting discussion of comparison. It is interesting to me that the issues which prompted objection to monarchical abuse again obtain with regard to presidential abuse. It would be interesting to me that others engage in honest contemplation of the issue.
