If they didn't withhold a whistleblower complaint, whatever other example you have is irrelevant. If HE DID IT FIRST!!! works for anything and everything, nothing matters anymore and laws don't matter and there are no standards, just finger pointing.

The IC IG reported to the House that a whistleblower complaint was filed, reviewed by the IG, found urgent and credible by the IG, and hasn't been forwarded to the House as the law requires. That's either OK or it's not.

Here are the letters. They spell out what he's "looking for" which is a whistleblower complaint determined by the IC IG to be credible. The IC IG alerted Congress to the existence of this whistleblower complaint, presumably because it has not been forwarded to Congress as the law requires. So Schiff is demanding that the DNI comply with the law.

That's the reason, and it's not a fishing expedition but a known complaint reviewed by the IG and determined to be credible.

The whistleblower complaint. The intended recipient is CONGRESS, not the whistleblower's bosses. Do you understand what a whistleblower complaint is? If you do, why would you think the appropriate audience is the people at the top of the agency who can bury the complaint, fire the whistleblower, without alerting anyone?

the whistleblower is protected should he/they share their allegations with the congressional committee directly
i hope that will be done to prevent running out the clock on this matter via litigation about whether the committee should lawfully receive the whistleblower's information

for such an 'honest' administration, it sure does work hard to conceal information from the public and the public's representatives

It's classified, and the whistleblower is going through the proper channels to report alleged wrongdoing involving presumably classified information. The reason we have set up this process is as an alternative to just sending the stuff to WaPo or NYT. If you don't like leaks of classified information, this is the alternative, but if this alternative ends with the affected agencies burying it, then leaks it will be.

I find it supremely sad that such a large number of people cannot see it, let alone hear it. I don't see them as evil, just not able to see what is happening before their eyes. this kind of thing has happened before, History is replete with tyrants and wannabe tyrants that fool large populations, as that it is a historical fact that a large part of most populations are simpletons/simple people, and I can't do anything about that, but prey the majority beat Trump in the next election. All of this and still no explanation how this evil clever man outsmarted a 2 year FBI investigation. These were not voters, these were the best of what this country has to offer in this investigation. You can't sit there and tell me Trump wooed the FBI into making a bad decision.

As long as Trump is POTUS he cannot be prosecuted for allegedly breaking any law in federal court. That is the finding of the DoJ and we all know AG Barr won't do it. To that degree, Trump is above the law as POTUS. Once he becomes plain citizen Trump, that's a different matter.

So you think the Military is now making their own decisions to attack Syria and Trump had nothing to do with it. You actually have no idea that Trump ordered the attack on Syria? You don't think our intelligence knew that airfield had Russians on location?
