About 6 months ago, I lost my blue collar job. I think it was because of my age. The place was a ****hole, but I stayed there thinking no one would hire a senior citizen.
It was a huge mistake. Within 3 days, I got a better job, doing the same type of work as before. And I'm being paid literally twice as much.

And for this, I say " Thank you Mr. Trump!".

The most funny thing about this entire era is that Hillary is 1000 times more honest than Trump. That's just too delicious.

Trump supporters during this era are going to look like those dudes from the 1950s who were against mixed race marriages. Standing on the steps of the Capitol saying that interracial couples were communists. You guys are just going to look so old and outdated so fast.

And then a bunch of people are going to die and the kids of today will take over. So unless Donald Trump (and Mitch and today's Republicans) can govern from the grave all of this crap Trump is doing these days will be overturned.

I am fairly certain that is what will happen. The only question that seems to remain is the matter of timing.

Which leaves the serious question of whether the next generation wants the US to be the major world and economic power that it has been since the end of WWII.

The future belongs to Mellenials and to this generation that just graduated high school, never knowing what it was like before school lockdown drills, 9/11, or the internet. (It wasn’t really better, no matter what your grandfather tells you! He just doesn’t remember when his grandfather said the same things about his generation!).

None the less, the America I grew up in did have faith in itself, and boundless faith in the future.

Which is the thing I most like about the emerging generations. It renews my faith in the future.

But no one should make the mistakes that the American people made in 2016. No one should underestimate the power of the reactionary right wing forces taht drive the secretive billionaires that control the GOP, or the collection of racism, no nothing ness, fear and xenphobia that is the right wing narrative now. Because it has strong echoes in our past. These are tropes that survive the generations, and are especially embraced in the South, the Midwest, and the far west. In that respect, it’s not much different now, than it was in 1919.

In 1919, the US walked away from its role and responsibility as the world power that emerged at the top at the end of WWI.

We did not make that mistake in 1945.

But we appear to be making it now. With Donald Trump and his backward looking base at the head of the parade.

The US will never be the country it needs or deserves to be if that retreat from the world continues.

I’m a Biden guy because we need to show the world familiar stability. Biden is very well known and respected on the world stage.

He was surrounded on the stage at the last debate by an all star cast of potential cabinet secretaries, a UN Ambassador, and some strong Senators and Governors.

I don’t think Joe Biden will serve more than one term. Age argues against it. But his one term will be highlighted by the team in the warmup circle.

the thing is...that doesnt happen

as people grow older....get get a little smarter and a little wiser

and they go from being "dreamers" to being realists

and go from blue to red....

millions upon millions of conservatives were ONCE democrats/liberals that actually changed their views

not all of them....just enough to start voting differently

success does that....you want to keep a little of what you have earned, to pass along to your progeny

so no...i am not worried...because there is always the next batch of me's coming along that will see the truth

Yeah, I guess not being gullible and fooled by a New York City con man makes one emotional or immature.

Donald Trump is going to leave office at some point. He's also going to pass away at some point (as we all do). When those things happen you guys are gonna find out what that person is really all about. His non disclosure agreements will be void for many things and his employees, governmental appointees and mistresses will speak out.

If you don't think that people get liberal as time goes by then why do we not have slaves, why can women vote, why are women and gay people getting equal rights, and why are there interracial marriages?

Hell, why are their child labor laws and protections for our environment?

What really happens is old, outdated ways die with the people who had them and more enlightened people come along and fix the problems caused by their parents and grandparents.

The kids of today are just waiting for you guys to get out of the way so they can fix the problems.

The kids of today cant get their asses off their moms couch and spend their days eating cheetos and playing video games and chewing on psychotropic medications. The kids of today are so ****ed up mentally they they are constantly seeking to add to the list of 117 different genders while they try to figure out who and what they are. Or maybe you mean the really 'edgy' kids of today who spend 6-8 years hiding out in college running up massive student loan debt on degrees they will never be able to use all the while hoping and praying that there will be enough of them to be able to elect a socialist government that will commit to taking care of them for the rest of their lives, not knowing how to balance a bank account but thinking they know how to run businesses. The kids of today will be just fine with the rat party doing its level best to turn the entire country into a ****hole like they have done in every major city they have governed...as long as they will keep promising to stroke them and tell them they are special and that their failures arent their fault and life should be fair and they should never have to worry about having their feelings hurt and dont worry...big government mommy will take care of EVERYTHING....

The only really tragic thing is that there ARE plenty of 'kids of today' that DO still believe in hard work and values and families...and those poor saps are going to stuck dragging the rest of the crippled dependent leftist 'kids of today' through the rest of their pathetic miserable lives.

My young, mid-twenties, doctor is a liberal. His life seems very happy indeed and not in the least pathetic. What is pathetic is conservatives whining that everyone else is a problem, except them.

The kids that replace this Trump era of Republicans will be productive and they will right the wrongs that are happening right this minute (like gay rights, environmental issues, racists, etc). None of the Republicans from this generation will get to govern the county from the grave.

Hell, the parents from the 50s-80s said that all of the adults now were gonna be lazy from just watching the boob tube. Some are rich. Some are still watching TV (Fox News, etc).
