Saudi Arabia Shuts Down About Half Its Oil Output After Drone Strikes

The saudis likely did not do it, the houthis have claimed it and they have been open about it since the start of the yemen war, and saudi arabia is at war with yemen. The houthis prioritize bases for aircraft and oil production as their prime targets, and have made it no secret, oil funds the saudis and airports are also used by the saudi military to launch airstikes rather than just military bases.

The truth is saudi is already inching towards broke with oil prices dropping, and has been losing a war using the best equipment money can buy to barefoot rebels with no money and whatever gear they can aquire of take from battle.

could be that you're correct. however, we should ditch oil. i like muscle cars and SUVs as much as the next guy, but it's time to move on to something else, IMO.

That is not at all far fetched. Given drone range limitations the most logical origin for the flights is ......somewhere within Saudi. Now that does not mean Saudi's were at the controls. Could have been done by Yemenis or others. Might also explain why nobody had eyes on to an air border crossing.

That should shake a few people up here and there!

Drone range is not too limited, drone tech is easily bought on amazon, and they are either radio or gps controlled, it is not too hard for a barefoot rebel with no money hiding in a cave to figure out how to extend the range of a drone, heck the us has been using them since ww2 and somehow people find it impossible that any country with any source of tech can build them.

Lowering dependance would not cure anything unless you got every nation on earth onboard the same ship. The saudi govt is so reliant on oil that any price drops or even disruptions cripples them, their rivals like russia and iran have far more diverse ecenomies, where they may see a recession rather than a collapse over oil prices. The saudi govt has for a long time had plans to diversify their economy, always getting stalled until they are facing bankruptcy and it is too late.

Saudi arabia is a massive exporter of oil used worldwide, there are many others however the us likely fears that saudi falling would be a massive hit to the world economy even if someone else filled the gap like the us or russia or iran or venezuala.

I don't see the Saudi's getting involved, all those military items and all the arms they bought from us are just rich man toys to show off with. When it comes to the down and dirty they will ask us to step in for them.

Saudi arabia is losing to barefoot rebels in yemen, they are so terrible at war you could hand them 5000 f-22's 10k f-35's and 1k b-2 bombers and after one year they would be wanting more because they lost mos of them, money and the best gear means squat if your military can not use it effectively, and the saudi's are the poster child for piss poor military strategy, which is why after so many years the houthi rebels are still winning in yemen and now they need to fight the southern transitional council as well who turned against the saudis.

Well congrats. You are on the same level of Trumpism. Happy TDS Day

The only ones with Trump Defense Syndrome (TDS) are Trump supporters like yourself.

Does anybody believe a bunch of drones could do all that?? I dont, they had to have been missiles IMO

Searching the tread for something meaningful that you have added in the form of a post. Haven't seen it yet.

Why don't you just start a TDS thread and you can just repost TDS!!! over and over again in that. Then you would have that base covered.

No thanks. Ill just continue to call it when I see it.

Looks to me like that "cold war" is getting hot. Do you think the rest of the ME will stand by and let it flare up even hotter?

Even hotter in the NE? Heck yeah. It's about religion.

Oooh. And Praxas counters with a devastating 'I know you are but what am I?' retort. You are on fire today!!

SA are bad guys. There are Jewish communities in Iran that have been there for centuries. It's illegal to practice Judaism in SA. SA promotes an extreme fundamentalist version of Islam. They execute people for blasphemy and witchcraft. Most of the 9/11 attackers were from SA. Some from SA government actually helped the 9/11 terrorists. Iran is Shiites and Shiites do not blow themselves up.

There is a cold war between SA and Iran. Why are we on the side of the bad guys?

Oil and Defense Contracts, I know I am an American working in KSA.

I agree. When that something else (to fossil fuels) is affordable, reliable and effective.

Versus your "DURP TDS DURP" nonsense.

Versus your "DURP TDS DURP" nonsense.

TDS is a real. It is a mind destroying infection that nearly 80% of people on the far left have contracted. As of now, there doesnt seem to be a cure. Mental maturity can help alleviate many of the symptoms though.

Iran's proxies strike again.

I'll lay down some $ that says the US military will help lay waste to some Houthi strongholds this coming week.

Seems like it kinda pales in comparison to the years of war crimes SA has been carrying out in Yemen.

I wouldn't be surprised if SA and other ME countries...including Israel...lay waste to some juicy targets in Iran.

Because they aren't laying down to be exterminated by SA?

if other nations want to stubbornly cling to fossil fuels, let them. they can deal with the unsolvable problems in the Middle East, worry about dictators and despots, and fellate Russia for dessert. it's time for the US to move on.

Exactly, they have been at it with Yemen for years and to me have only achieved a high civilian count, like the 140 mourners bombed and killed at a funeral. If it came to a more advanced enemy military they would be screaming for help and that usually means us.

Why is Israel allowed to have nuclear weapons but Iran is not?

Israel has had nukes for a long time but has not used them. All Iranian leaders talk about is wiping Israel off the map.

It is an oil facility. Oil and gas can be very flammable. One small explosion breaking a pipe can cause a series of explosions in a much greater area.

The Saudis are using OUR weapons to kill thousands of innocent people in Yemen.

And Republicans and Trump supporters think THIS drone attack A) has nothing to do with Trump and the US? It has everything to do with us...and 2) that THIS drone attack has upped the tension in the ME? LOL... Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Yemen, and on and on... It's been hot over there for decades.

All those places and wars that we were suppose to get out of years ago, and we're still there selling all sides our weapons, while all sides are using those weapons to kill 1000's of innocent women and children.... And THIS event surprises people?

Republicans are a naive bunch.

Do you have anything to add here besides screaming TDS, TDS?
