A question, possibly of significance.

Of course we know what comes next and, personally, I like apple pie with a lattice crust. If someone can come up with a really good rhubarb pie I'm good with that too but balancing the sweet and tart in a rhubarb pie is a true art form.

I can't decide whether this thread, or the left wing women thread, is best thread ever...

Yup. My Lady, no mean cook, has mastered the art of balancing butter, lemon and white wine in a chicken Francese. No mean feat.

Regards.

Um, well, you know, like, er, should we check to see if a presidential nominee is psychologically suited to be in control of weapons such as atomic bombs? By the way, in romance languages, 'bra' would be the feminine of 'bro.'

Regards.

A-ha!

Who administers the test? What are its questions? What does "psychologically suited" mean?

And saying bra is feminine is bogus, bra.

Answering the questions, a small group of highly respected psychologists. The questions will be those which they consider relevant. Mentally stable enough to be entrusted with control of weapons of mass destruction.

As to the bro -- bra -- brouhaha, I enjoy wordplay, dude. :)

Regards.

How small? Highly respected by whom? What are their political affiliations and medical qualifications? How does this jibe with the Constitution? How do they arrive at relevant questions? How are these questions reviewed and by whom? What does mentally stable enough to handle weapons of mass destruction mean? When is the test administered and to whom?

Brafully,

3LD

"A question, possibly of significance."

Personally, I have never written or read anything of any significance on an internet message board. ;)

Just my $0.02

Just be patient. One day I saw a guy reply to something and just two posts down I saw where he was awarded the entire internet!

So, now he's got that going for him.

First, a general agreement. Here in the United States of America, we determine in our police forces and in our armed services whether policemen or soldiers are psychologically stable before we permit them to have possession of guns and ammunition. That's a reasonable thing to do, right?

OK. Next step. The President of the United States of America has control over weapons far more powerful than a sidearm or an assault weapon.

You know the question that follows.

You cannot ask a sensible question to insensible people. Trump should not be allowed to play with toy soldiers but tell that to a Trump Cult Member and the trust they have in him is overwhelming, way above common sense.

Up until now, the electoral process was considered the psychological test. Of course, lots of norms have proven to be inadequate in the face of a Presidential candidate contemptuous of democratic norms and principles, which means in the post-Trump era we'll need codified laws to protect us against future Trumps, such as requirements to show tax returns and psychological evaluations.

The electoral process is contrary to the goals of the corporate super rich progressive fascists. Accordingly, the most Democrats also now favor a dictatorial police-state kleptocracy. This would not eliminate Trump. But it probably would eliminate 30 to 40 million Americans one way or another.

LOL. You lefties just never give up hope. But, I totally understand. Hope is all you have. If you didn't have that you wouldn't have anything because you don't have anything else but hope. I'm going to love to see another round of crying when you guys lose again in 2020.

What was the sensible part?

Hi! Thanks for your question. The 25th, if I've read it correctly, can be a long, drawn out process with all manner of interference through court action. That also makes it an after the fact control, rather like locking up a drunk driver after he's already killed someone.

"can be a long, drawn out process with all manner of interference through court action"

is also a good description of what it takes to

"lock up a drunk driver after he killed someone"

:)

It's now 6AM EDT here on the east coast of the US of A. I had to pack it in last night rather early. Anyhow, a very big 'Thank You!' to all who joined in the fun. I really enjoyed trading comments with you. All were in good spirits [Mine was a glass or two of a cheap Chard,] and, hopefully, Ol' Willie Shakespeare said it nicely: 'All's Well That Ends Well.'

Hope to post an amusing OP soon. Would love to see some of the same handles belly up to the virtual bar. [You 2, Bra!]

Regards.
