President of the United States of America Donald Trump has called today for the Fed to reduce rates to zero or below. Meanwhile, that fount of 'conservative' wisdom, Mr. Rush Limbaugh, has been going on at length over how well the economy is doing.

One or perhaps both of them do not subscribe to the basic Keynesian concept of the relation of government borrowing/interest rates to the state of the economy. I must admit that a desultory search by this humble citizen did not turn up any information on the formal economic training background of either of them.

Just curious, have you ever actually listened to Limbaugh longer than a few minutes?

Hi, Grandpappy! Thanks for the question. I have, and quite often, at that. He serves several purposes for me. First, he broadcasts at a time when it's convenient for me to listen. He can be expected to present the current 'conservative' wisdom on the issue du jour. He's certainly good for a laugh, too. More importantly, he provides me with excellent opportunities to review my knowledge of logical errors and emotionally-appealing polemic patter.

Regards.

Ya, I watch Morning Joe occasionally just to keep up with the latest anti-Trump blather.

:prof --- The Trump Organization will borrow like crazy at 0% interest and purchase more real-estate.

I'm not familiar with that program. Mornings, I'm usually scanning a number of 'net sources. I'm far more a radio person than a TV type.

Regards.

Republicans always want to accelerate the economy. Zero interest rates? money in the bank sure isn't worth much.

But that Republican Boom always ends in a bust. Will trump's happen before or after the election. If after republicans can always blame it on the democrats like they always do.

Hi! If before, they'll blame either Mrs. Hillary Rodham Clinton, Mr. Barack Obama, the Fed or the media.

"President of the United States of America Donald Trump" is what's wrong with this picture.

Rush? Is that addict sober today?

His usual self? Like ignorant, sniffing Trump's ass, and incoherent?

Hi again. No, he rarely mentions President of the United States of America Donald Trump specifically. If he did, he would have to, one way or another, deal with the man himself. Rather, he spends most of his time castigating Mrs. Hillary Rodham Clinton, Mr. Barack Obama and those who served in Democratic administrations. And, of course, his major attacks are on the 'libs', using the fallacy of composition to argue from an individual instance to a general smear. Any silly happening anywhere which can be seen as the work of a liberal or someone tied to a liberal cause is made the property of all liberals.

By carefully avoiding direct support of President Trump, Mr. Limbaugh leaves himself an 'out' should things fall apart. It also sets him up nicely with his listening enablers should the Democrats re-take the White House in 2021.

Regards.

Does anybody listen to Limbaugh anymore?
