Health Insurance Coverage Declines

This is appalling. My sympathies are extended to you with best wishes for your mother's recovery. Cancer took my mother some twenty years ago, and all of her lengthy and costly treatment, including surgery, cost nothing here in England. America's healthcare needs to be fixed; no excuses.

Thank you for your sympathies and you have mine in return.

Given CNN's really impressive track record for putting out the most fake news, and their dedicated effort to destroy business and consumer confidence and crash the economy, I'll go with this account:

U.S. Median Household Income Rose To Record High In 2018 - munKNEE.com

I wonder how many of those poor, poor uninsured own an unlimited cell plan.
I wonder how many of them own a $65k land yacht, when a $20k car would suffice.
I wonder how many of them are in, over their heads, with a house they can barely afford.

Choices have consequences.

Surely you have documentation to back up these claims?

Cite your sources, please. Academic sources, please. No Breitbart, Dailey Caller or Fox News.

Oh wait. - you posted “I wonder,” which means you know nothing. Just a very uneducated guess.

aaaaaand another perfect example of the problem with people being factually uneducated/ignorant, dishonest and or simply not caring about the issue.

Right? He just jumped right over the “steak and lobster being paid for by food stamps” and went straight to a yacht.

Edited to add: I read the post wrong. I wondered why he didn’t include the “welfare Cadillac,” but when I reread the post, he did include it. So not a real yacht, a land yacht. His post would have been almost perfect if he’d included the steak in the shopping cart in front of him, paid for by food stamps.

1.)again its better than what we had by far. Yes I agree many individual republicans put things in place to hinder it and try to kill it and thats exactly my point. BOTH sides do retarded things that we the people suffer for instead of just simply working to make it better.

Is it better? Yes. In SOME facets. In others, it was an abject failure. The republicants did absolutely kill a bill, which had it's genesis in the HEART bill from the 90's, which WAS a republican bill. Amusing when you consider the right would have been for the ACA before it was proposed by Obama. The ACA was a compromise, and the right simply rejected it; this is why the ACA is a failure; it was rejected by radical ideologues who are unwilling to compromise, yet demand the left pick someone for president that is to the right's liking.

2.) I wont be getting into republicans this, democrats that because thats part of the problem. Im not hopeful but i miss the days when a good idea was a good idea no matter who had it and when something needed improvement we did that instead of jockeying for power and position of who gets credit for the improvement. But I do agree the mentality of super gross profit is wrong and part of the problem.

Super gross profit is a problem yes, but let's be entirely clear here; a single payer system would be more fiscally conservative than fiscally liberal; it would save money. It absolutely -is- a republican this problem, and until you address that, you're not staying current in the conversation.

3.) agreed

But I thought that Cadillac was free. Don't black people get free Cadillacs?

It is of importance to know what President of the United States of America Donald Trump has said about his position on health care.

"Obamacare. We're going to repeal it, we're going to replace it, get something great. Repeal it, replace it, get something great!"

"If you can't take care of your sick in the country, forget it, it's all over. I mean, it's no good. So I'm very liberal when it comes to healthcare. I believe in universal healthcare. [talics mine.] I believe in whatever it takes to make people well and better."

"There's many different ways, by the way. Everybody's got to be covered. This is an un-Republican thing for me to say because a lot of times they say, 'No, no, the lower 25 percent that can't afford private'… I am going to take care of everybody. I don't care if it costs me votes or not. Everybody's going to be taken care of much better than they're taken care of now."

Given the latest figures for the number of uninsured in this country, perhaps the President is backing up for a better start, no? He is, after all, scrupulous in hewing to his word.

Yeah it was pretty classic of the typical post void of reality
Sadly ive heard people make those comments in real life and i always found it weird because in my 40+ years ive never been in line at the market and paid that much attention to what the people had in front of me, and certainly not enough to compare their items to mine and be angry if there stuff was better and they were on assistance.

are there people that game the system and does it not work out properly at times? absolutely. Does that mean scrap it, hate all those involved and play the victim card . . nope lol I support "probably" all safety net programs but i also admit the abuse that goes on and thats what needs fixed.

1.) and thats what I said, it is better
2.) if thats the case then we simply work to fix improve those areas but overall its still better
3.) never said they didnt, they are to blame for THIS aspect, they have worked hard to roadblock it and falsely criticize things they agreed with in the past sure but theres more than enough blame to go around for our healthcare issues that just didnt magically happen overnight. Like i said i wont pick one side to blame cause thats counterproductive in a problem thats been stewing for decades.

Disagree. The republicants are the primary problem with healthcare. The number one issue is republicants and their constituency.

You are free to disagree but that is counterproductive and part of the problem when you overgeneralize like that, theres no other way about it

I wish i could just snap my fingers and make it so congress had the same plans as everybody else. Bet that would motivate politicians right, left and center to do better for the american people.

That's not an overgeneralization.

In the 90's HRC tried single payer; the reply was the HEART bill, or the ACA's predecessor. The ACA was seen as a compromise with a republican party hell bent on telling the left to pound sand, which they have been doing for over a decade.

Counterproductive? No. What's counterproductive is assuming the right will ever meet you half way or ever agree to fix the aca; they won't.

Until you recognize this, you will continue to flap ineffectually, like a gutted fish.

I'm the same way. Every time I've been behind someone in the supermarket (and raising 5 kids, that's several times a week ), I have never really paid attention to what's in anybody's shopping cart. You don't even usually find out how they pay until after it's all over with, the groceries are in the cart and the stamps (or I think it's a card now) comes out. These people gonna go rifling through peoples' bags? Some of them might, sadly enough.

But then I look at it this way. People who are on assistance like food stamps are having enough of a rough go in life without me telling them that every now and then, they can't have a steak.

1.) if you say so but theres nothing youll be able to present that makes it otherwise. If its important that a % is given to both sides and you people to admit its 60% the rights fault and 40% the lefts fault or something like that go for it. AGain its meaningless and counterproductive

2.) yes it definitely is, its a waste of time that solves nothing

3.) good thing that factually didnt happen and i didn't do that

4.) or your factually false claim and strawmen will simply continue to fail and be mocked by me for the nonsense and made up fantasy it is since it (me claiming the right will fix the ACA) never happened one single time :laughat:

if you disagree then simply qoute me sayign they will agree to fix it?

Nonsense. Newt Gingrich, the contract with the american people, his speakership was the beginning of the end of the republican party, and a drift toward right populism based on easy answers to complex problems; a myriad of lies and deceptions concealing a seething undercurrent of racism, authoritarianism and anti-democracy; this speakership, by Newt Gingrich was the beginning of the end of valid discourse among republicans and democrats. He harped endlessly against the left; blamed, pointed fingers, and if you go back and LISTEN to his speeches you will hear the same vapid insanity parroted by every republican in every state, down to voters themselves.

What's counterproductive is IGNORING who is at fault for this issue; ignoring it proliferates the shameful drift toward right wing authoritarian populism.

2.) yes it definitely is, its a waste of time that solves nothing

See point 1.

3.) good thing that factually didnt happen and i didn't do that

Then stop trying to insist the right wing is not the largest road block to fixing healthcare in this country.

4.) or your factually false claim and strawmen will simply continue to fail and be mocked by me for the nonsense and made up fantasy it is since it (me claiming the right will fix the ACA) never happened one single time :laughat:

Yawn. What an uninteresting reply.

if you disagree then simply qoute me sayign they will agree to fix it?

I disagree with your cowardice with regard to making sure the public knows who exactly is to blame for the state of healthcare in this country.

Freedom of speech is USELESS if you don't have the guts to tell the truth about something.

But I thought that Cadillac was free. Don't black people get free Cadillacs?

No, as a group they moved away from Cadillac over to Mercedes Benz quite a long time ago.

So you think the economy was fixed later?

Please, show me the point where it was fixed.

You posted a graph that pointed out something had changed in 20107, when Trump took office.

I asked you why you think something CHANGED.

Why did you change the word to FIXED in your response to me?

Its a weird thing IMO, im just not wired that way.
Heck and my Dad worked for the county, i saw first hand some of the abuses some people pulled off .. or yet . .. .ther ability to be "content" where I wouldnt be. But again it doesn't inspire such visceral hate or judgment in me and make me want to scrap a system that helps millions that actually need it.

I agree with you, the majority of those people already have enough going on without others judging them for buying name brand steaks and not knowing anything else that is going on in their lives.

Its almost like an 80s after school special . . watching kids hate some other kids for whatever invented reason they feel like focusing on but actually knowing anything about the reality of the situation. I wonder where else they practice this weird very narrow-minded, illogical, jealous and selfish mentality? its basically a situation where they dont like it or it doesnt benefit them or it benefits somebody they dont like so that = GRRRRR I HATE IT!!!!!

Dont forget if you want to have an honest conversation without spinning into oblivion im ready for you to back up your lies and quote me doing what you said or simply post with integrity and admit it factually didnt happen. Let me know il be waiting! :)

Oh, I'm having an honest conversation. IF the right wing were not a bunch of kings in their own mind we would have single payer already.

But you do go on; typically when a poster claims "victory" it's because they lost.

C'Est La Vie.
