Commerce Chief Threatened Firings at NOAA

With the craziest of inmates running the asylum, what else do we expect?

“WILBUR!” I knew it!

Trump:roll:

Don't cross him. Lie for him. Or lose your job.

How has America come to this

What an embarrassment for a president!

This should be another nail in the political coffin of the silent and complicit Republican Party, as we already know how they’ve behaved during recent Democratic administrations.

Hahaha I knew something like this would come out. Now the only question is, what excuses will the usual suspects come up with?

They are organizing talking points right now which is why they arent in this thread yet. Marching orders have yet to be disseminated.

“This is not unusual”

“Obama did it”

“Who cares?”

”Witch hunt”

”Nuthinberder”

Great. So now if I want to believe a weather report that comes out of an agency controlled by Trump, I'll have to cross reference that report with whether or not it embarrasses him first.

Remember when a government agency would give you a weather forecast and you just sort of...believed it? Yeah, life was pretty boring back then.

Trump needs us to doubt EVERYTHING. If someone announces the sun will rise in the east, Trump wants us to question it. It is part of the plan.

One day, someone will announce that Trump is no longer president. He wants us to question that, seriously.

We voted for this.

And don't tell me any bull**** about the popular vote numbers, we voted for the people who are watching this happen in positions to at least slow it down and do nothing.

Trump is a punk. A thug. A bully. I look forward to the day this piece of crap is voted out.

All hail the emperor with no clothes. And to think this is the kind of stuff the right doesn't blink an eye about. Tell me lies, tell me sweet little lies...about everything.

Goodbye GOP, hello cult of trump.

This stuff is heart attack serious.

WTF kind of spell does Trump use to keep his base supporting him?

Populism - Wikipedia

Most every major political revolution that's happened has ended badly. The French Revolution, the Communist Revolution, rise of Nazi Germany, Venezuela, Mao Zedong and the rise of Communist China...all examples of populism, and it always ends badly.

While what's happening here in the US and in the UK isn't quite as bloody as the above examples, the situation is deteriorating fast, and populism is its vehicle.

Suspicion in our government is nothing new, but Trump has taken that distrust, dialed it to eleven and is completely erasing any trust in our institutions as well as the very concept of objective truth. And without objective truth, Democracy can't exist.

It's not as bloody because no one is hungry in 2019 UK and USA.

Famines never happen until they do. It's easy to think that food will always be abundant, but the mechanisms for exacerbating their interruption are always there. Climate change, introduction of new pests, unnecessary trade wars, shortages in critical ingredients in fertilizer...none of these things by themselves are enough to create a critical shortage in food supplies, but apply enough pressure and yeah, you can have a serious problem. And right now, our leadership is bad enough to let any of those mechanism create a serious problem.

Objective truth? Like Trump being a Russian agent? Trump being a Nazi? How about the objective truth that this supposed conversation is unsubstantiated rumor? The only thing deteriorating is progressives collective tantrum.
