This means 11 Democratic candidates qualify for the October debate. Tom Steyer has really struggled in the national polls. For the August, DNC-approved national polls, he managed to squeak out .3%. But somehow managed to squeak out four polls from early primary states. Here are his qualifying polls: Monmouth Iowa (August, 3%), CBS News Iowa (July, 2%), CBS News South Carolina (July, 2%), and CBS News Nevada (September, 2%). :doh

The Democrats do not need more candidates on stage. They need less.

I am not sure what Steyer brings to the table. He's got money to burn, and that's about it.

Anybody here see the point of putting Steyer on a debate stage? The DNC's loose rules have created a system where too many candidates qualify. Personally, I have no issue with saying, "you have to register in at least 1% in the major national polls to qualify. If there are more than 10, then there's a tiebreaker for the 10th spot".

Steyer early on had a campaign for $1 donations so he could pass the threshold number of donors test. Beyond that, he is going to get a lot of pushback from the environmental left. The real environmentalist, not the Believing in Global Warming Is All That Matters left, are not very fond of him.

Steyer is one of those hypocrite leftists that whine about man made global warming but owns a boat load of big oil stocks.

Not really happy about this.

Dude is a billionaire claiming he can save us all from the avarice and corruption of other, more venal billionaires (not unlike a certain Republican nominee I know of), while essentially buying his way on stage in a matter of weeks.

Steyer needs to go away.

He should give his place to Tulsi.

Steyer's ego won't let him quit.

Now, we're going to have 12 candidates for the October debates, which means the debates will likely be two nights again.

JFC, get your **** together.
