Sanders needs to pump those numbers. There’s nothing I want more to have him coming in raving crazy in a debate with Trump

I'd rather have Biden saying policy positions do not matter since he is more folksy than Trump and to prove it he would take Trump out behind the gym. ;)

According to Politico, Vice President Biden HAS TO win in South Carolina, or he's finished.

That website says that he is depending on a certain constituency in that state to support him.

If Biden’s the nominee Trump should come into the debate telling Joe how sorry he is to know he lost his family to a “drunk driver”

(Biden is going around falsely claiming the late truck driver in an accident that killed Biden’s wife was drunk when in fact he was fully exonerated, Biden’s a PoS)

Joes not just a gaffer, he’s a malicious PoS lying sack of S

Biden assures us that numerous facts being wrong in the tall tales of his personal experiences do not matter because the underlying (no pun intended) feelings that he is trying to convey are heartfelt.

Warren and Sanders cannot win in the general.

Warren could Sanders I doubt could

Of course I said the same about Trump, not being able to win the Repub nom and of course win the election (changed my mind about 1 month before)

I would love a Trump/Bernie debate. You couldn't juxtapose capitalism vs. socialism any better. It would be better than Rocky IV!

The vote we need is rust belt men and redneck women.

Warren can not win this demographic.

Bernie is no debater.

Trump would trounce him.

I would not be so sure about that - few thought that Trump had any real chance in 2016.

I KNEW Trump would be the republican nominee during the Iowa campaign.

It was obvious.

I will admit, I though Hillary more likely than not to win the general but that was more me believing polls rather than my own eyes.

IMHO, there are loads of "never Trump" folks, quite a few who would vote for any "D" and many that want to see a huge expansion of the "safety net" by adding "free" medical care and college/trade school tuition.

The real questions are
1- will African American voters hold fast for Biden?
2- will Bernie eventually opt out for Warren and double her numbers?
3 - will anybody stay in to fill the center if Biden eventually departs?

I agree.

But we need the votes from the rust belt and redneck women and these are not never Trumpers.

Joe or Warren would make a very big differance to this group. IMO.

If that is the case then it would be best to STFU about the GND nonsense - they very much like pick-up trucks, SUVs and burgers.

Bernie has the best strategy to beat Trump. Biden and Warren have the worst ones. To beat Trump you focus on policy and ignore his charades. Biden and Warren would both be baited by Trump into engaging in his smears and mud slinging. And Trump always just hammers away on those news cycles until the headlines break in his favor.

What Trump can't do is argue why Americans shouldn't have healthcare and why climate change is fake news.

I find it interesting that such standard doesn't apply to Sanders or Warren. Politico seems to think Biden is way behind in Iowa and NH, and needs SC as the hail Mary pass.

As far as I can see, you win the black vote, you win the nomination.

To beat Trump you focus on policy and ignore his charades. .

I disagree.

You speak to the charades that Trump pulls but be the adult laughing at the immaturity of the child. Then you talk policy. Then you silently smile at his childish comment, then you go back to policy.

If his "game" is ignored, he appears to have won.

You literally have to treat him as the child he is on the debate stage.

If done successfully, he will melt down. He is EXTREMELY vulnerable to embarrassment.

The trick is to embarrass him without bullying him as he does to others.
