Bill Maher and Christina Hoff Sommers lay waste to what the Left have become.

:lamo When a Trump-cultist tries to quote Bill Maher, all you can do is just chuckle. If you like the criticism he has for his own philosophical kind, you'll love the things he has to say about you guys. Big fan of the show, zimmy?

You obviously didn’t watch.

Fan? If you search this forum, you’ll find I was vocal against the run-up to and his getting fired from ABC.

Even blind squirrels find nuts now and again. Here Maher and Hoff Summers lay waste to the what their party has become... a misinformed, ill educated bunch of pantywaists.

Personally, I've been a fan of Maher since his 'Politically Incorrect' days, and I also tend to side with Christina Hoff Summers' point of view on these issues. Maher has always been provocative and a contrarian.

Love what she has to say...She is absolutely correct that today's leftist women are clueless about feminism. Feminism isn't supposed to be an advantage, a tool to clobber men. It's always been about equality between the sexes. The irony is that she would be explaining how loony the left has become and saying this to Maher, a complete loony leftist, who hopes the country goes into a recession so Trump will lose. :screwy

It's refreshing to see anyone reflect on the weaknesses of their own side and be self-critical. This kind of thing is depressingly hard to find on the right, wouldn't you agree?

Yes, Jetboogieman... he has a big heart for you too.

Now that we have that clarified, what was it you wanted to say about Bill Maher and Hoff Sommers laying Waste to the modern “snowflake”, “safe space”, “cuddle dog” New Democrat Party before you were so easily distracted by the meme someone sent you?

Maher is a bigot who has learned to use liberal audiences as a power base. What's funny is he's a bit like trump - he insults the audiences to their face. Because he'll attack the right, the left gives him too much of a pass.

ROTFLOL... we don’t have insane ideas like the Left.

Hope that didn’t “trigger”* you and send you sprinting to your “safe space”* and “Cuddle dog”*!!!

*All behaviors/places/things brought up by Maher and Hoff Sommers during their brief examination of how insane the Left has become.

LEFTIST NOTICE TO BILL MAHER!!!

On September 6, 2019 a member of the ANTIFA DEMOCRATS observed a Goose Stepping violation on your show Real Time!!!

If you continue misstepping, there will be serious consequences.

Sincerely,
ANTIFA DEMOCRAT PARTEI

I would support him for VP, to John Stewart.

THAT would be a winning ticket.

Leftists lining up to post their usual stupid comments, demonstrating that not a one of them bothered watching the video nor can speak to the content of the video.

Well thats just shocking.

I don't understand what the problem is. Christina Hoff Sommers made some excellent points, points which resonated with me because I am a sixty-three year old man who grew up with "classical" First Wave feminism.
Sommers says that instead of equality, SOME Second Wave feminists appear to be advocating for a kind of "female chauvinism".
And she's right.
There is a cadre of ultra-far Left "Women's Studies" professors whose own personal interactions with the world are every bit as "bubble-licious" as the anchor team at Fox's "Fox and Friends", except on the extreme Left.
Sommers is a valuable part of the backlash against this whole idiotic "safe spaces" nonsense.

In fact, the only stupidity in any of this is the notion that Sommers and Maher have "laid waste to what the Left has become".

Uhhhh...NO. They're putting much needed perspective on what the extreme far Left is doing, and putting much needed perspective on the real actual influence of these extremists. They're putting them in their proper place on the totem pole, which is clearly a lot lower than the far-Left would like to think it is. They are exposing the delusional thinking of a very vocal but very small minority.
I don't see why that should be a problem for anyone on the Left except the extremists, and I don't really care what extremists on my side of the fence think anymore than I care what the extremists on the other side of the fence think.

The things to watch out for with someone like that are largely, one-sided arguments - focusing on the worst bits of something and minimizing the good parts - and straw men. It's not so much that we she says is likely to be directly wrong, as to advocate with bias. Notice how much you heard mocking of 'safe room' type things? Mock, mock, mock - and mock feminism generally by doing so. It's like the old 'used to be a Democrat' to try to gain credibility.

Well, to be fair, it seems that he actually watched the clip before he passed judgement on it while you, apparently, couldn't be bothered.

The whole idea of "safe rooms" should be mocked, loudly.
A college campus is the very last place on the planet that should allow "safe spaces" because the whole idea behind higher education is that your ideas should be challenged.

And she did not mock feminism, she mocked the brand new offshoot of victim feminism which she is starting to view as a form of the very chauvinism original feminists attacked when it came from the male side.

Every time you hear terms like "mansplaining" or "toxic masculinity" you're hearing the expressed intent to shut down all ideas from males. The very use of stupid terms like that are designed to shut down and invalidate all ideas.
It is a form of "femsplaining".

Everyone understands male chauvinism, everyone understands predatory behavior, everyone understands assault and harassment. But when the mere expression of ideas is labeled "toxic masculinity" or "mansplaining", you're saying that you don't even want to HEAR ideas at all, unless they come from a feminine POV.

That isn't feminism, sorry. It's something, to be sure, but it is not feminism.

The reason I find Maher refreshing is BECAUSE I am eager for the chance to reflect on weaknesses and faults on our own side.

Maher is an extremist liberal conservative, like Sommers.

He just laid waste to a particularly lunatic branch of his own conservative liberal coalition.

It has nothing to do with the left.

I watch from time to time but I cringe at his whininess when he does his "new rules" segment. That and his constant bitching about mellenials.

I just want to tell him, Bill... they're kids you moron. Your boomer generation is the one that's been in power forever and day and ****ed it all up. Stop blaming the kids for behaving like kids.

I thought we were dangerous and violence prone.

I wish y'all would make up your minds.
