This is no anomaly, Since the elections of President Obama and the rise of the Tea Party, this "race hate mentality" that chase the ideals of the old Southern Confederacy has been seeping into every element of our governance, from position of decision making capacity in our internal government workings, and every sector of small towns to big cities across this nation. They actually have been on the march since the fall of Nixon, and became to be driven to purse an internal stragety of promoting their Confederacy Ideals, by and through the Reagan Administration.... with the rise and promotion of Right Wing Media.

When LBJ... took the Grand Step to bring DIGNITY to America, by the Civil Rights Act, the Voting Rights Act and the 1965 Immigration Act, and creating programs to help poor whites and minorities... its has since that time "enraged the Old long entrenched CONFEDERATE Idealist.

They detest the concept of "A Great Society", because it means no more "White Nationalist Dominance"... It meant no more of white society keeping their taxes low by stealing the taxes of poor whites and minorities to build up the well to do and wealthy communities. They set out to dismantle the process to what was called "middle class life", by stripping and attacking Unions and turning ignorant people against their own best interest by the wealthy convicting the ignorant to stand against Unions.
The basis was rooted in "blocking the pathway for blacks and other minorities from gaining Middle Class Standards of Equality",,, and in doing so, the poor whites were not of the educational awareness to know, it would also block them from access to a Middle Class Standard....

The Inequality they stood and continue to stand against, has been the driving forces that supported the abolishing of "the middle class" and they are too ingrained with skin color ignorance until they still can't see it. Because all they cared and some still only care about not seeing minorities have the equality these white right winger want for themselves.


There will never be a repeat of the Pre-1960's White Nationalism and Wealthy White Male Dominance ever again in America. Trump nor anyone else can make that exist again.. no matter how many hardships he tries to invoke upon Americans.

Women Today can now earn as much if not more than some men can, that is a point that infuriates many, who have long measured their concept of a man by 'money and what he can control with money"...

Women now won't let men anymore tell her what her body shape should look like, and she is not going to allow him to "use her as a sex toy" to satisfy his ego, and the mass volume of white women today, being left with the kids... will only increase.

Black men have long been forced into economic deficiency that contributed to broken families, and a system of him being measured by white mans standards based on what money he has.

Today, the black men are not accepting to measure themselves by money, but by his values and respect of God principles, and black women are no longer being deluded to try and measure black men, based on the concepts of a white men and their self measure based on money.

While I don't think this is a good idea, one must remember...you are discussing how a political PARTY is deciding on how they want their candidate for an office selected.

They can retain a membership vote via Primary, which is typical. However, they can also decide by committee, via elected representatives, by a meeting open to everyone in attendance who can then vote by "acclamation." They can even do what Democrats do, grant special status to "super-delegates" who can negate the effect of the primary votes any way they wish when it comes down to the final choice after all "primaries" have concluded.

It is all a matter of Party unity. Does the Party want the incumbent saddled with another gaggle of candidates vying to undermine policy and creating a division that might prevent re-election of the current office-holder, or not.

Having said all that, I don't think it is wise to do this. I don't see any viable Republican challenger, but the fact it is possible should allow the old process to continue.

2. More important, maybe primaries are a bad idea.

a. Maybe we should return to the "bad old days" of the smoked-filled rooms when a few bigwigs chose the party's candidate.

Do you serious think that you matter enough that I'd care what you ignore. Bernie was Bernie's own problem, he chose to "hitch a ride on the democratic ticket" and when it was clear and made very clear from the start who the Democratic Delegates pledged their support.... Then Bernie, did not know when to set to the side and support the Nominee of the Party he "hitched a ride upon"... The Democrats did not stop him from debating or attending any function of the Political Process... but he blinded himself to the fact that "the delegates" did not at any time try to hide whom they'd support. Political Money goes to where the voice of the Delegates Go.... Bernie should know that, it's Politic's 101 on how money is invested and how its spent.

No one screwed Bernie, except Bernie's own Attitude and Adulation of not knowing how to bring his voters on board with the delegates clear signal of whom they'd support and whom their voice would insure the money is spent to support. Bernie did good work as he amassed young people who'd never been involved or cared about politics, older people who'd ignored politics, and if he had used it correctly to respect those people, he would have explained to them... the need to use that backing to ensure the Democratic Nominee adopt some of his key agenda items, that's what political negotiation is all about. he could have gained a top spot in the Administration to oversee the very same programs he told his follower he wanted to promote...

Instead he let his ego get in the way and blinded him from the Party's Chosen Nominee and how best to work with her. A smart choice would have been to negotiate a Cabinet Position over the very areas that he wanted to promote change. The smart choice was to deal with working from within.

I think he could have gotten many things done if he had not been anguished because the delegates did not choose him. he even came out bashing Democrats later through his own anguish.... when he did not know how to use the power he had gained to help his followers support the Big Picture, which was to get a Democratic President Elected... instead... he split the vote, until it diluted it to the point many of his people failed to show up to vote.

I like some of his ideals and I like his passion about health care... but Bernie should know... all his items can't happen during a single administration, because America is not a speed boat that turns sharp, its a Cruise Liner that may take miles to make a turn... He should have accepted a role that was one that had top call on Health Care and Education.... Elizabeth Warren was fine dealing with Consumer Concerns and Banking Regulations and Trying to Stop the Rich From Fleecing the People.

Ego.. is a danger no matter how and when its used to lead ones attitude. I think he did a dis-service to his supporters by not knowing to face the truths the delegates had already made clear to him long before the convention. I like the passion of the sander voters, but he did not make the better usage of that passion. I find that post very misguided. Nowhere is there any mention of democracy, democratic values. It's basically an argument for dictatorship, arguing that because something is best for dictatorship, it makes sense. It's right to criticize Democrats for super-delegates, but neglects to mention the party has never overriden its voters with super-delegates.

The post says "it is all a matter of Party [sic] unity." Not a matter of democracy. Deny the people choice, force one choice, and praise the "unity". It seems to say challengers should only be allowed if they're not viable - but if there IS a viable challenger, wouldn't democracy be to allow that challenge, and not to force a candidate that isn't the voters' choice?

A little history on this:

Primaries weren't how presidential nominees were chosen historically mostly, until JFK. JFK saw the 'boss' system, and to break through it, he used the primary system to win. Once he did, primaries became the norm, the way voters expected to get to have a say in their nominee. We've taken for granted ever since that parties will use primaries, even when it hurts an incumbent, e.g., Ted Kennedy challenging Jimmy Carter.

This is just one more norm of democracy being violated by trump and the Republican Party, this time against their own voters.

It's also a sign of weakness for trump. And if anyone doubts he wouldn't like to just cancel elections altogether and be 'president for life', they're wrong. The sad thing is how many Americans would support that.

Senate has submitted to "hail the dictator"... and Departments are run by inept people, who have an agenda to strip down and weaken every Department.

Trump makes Tweets and disrupts our Military Leaders and Advisers and has all but totally destroyed out Diplomatic Corp.... That... My Dear Americans... is "DICTATORSHIP".. in its infancy.... and by the days, its growing... taking money from our military and education to pay for a wall, to back his racist bigotry,... its no different than "Hitler" enacting policies and denigrating the Jews, before he moved on to more drastic means.

Trump and Republican Administration is a "evil" that has repeatedly damaged America,... it builds itself upon the "under-educated and the un educated, who pursue the excitement of daily drama antics, over gaining and learning knowledgeable truths. Hitler saw that same thing and used it, because the people were 'uneducated, and chose to remain ignorant, and pretend it was a just cause, because they wanted to covet what the Jews had built and earned.... They did not apply themselves to learning as the Jews did, they took it that their white skin and the belligerence of Hitler, was all that was necessary for them to be given what they did not have the knowledge and intelligence to earn for themselves. It's the "exact same process being promoted by Republican in America...

These Rabid Republican Right Winger have adopted the stragety of Hitler while they chase the Dreams of the Confederacy.... Which is... by ever element of being ... "PLUTOCRACY".... The Southern Wealthy controlled Southern Society through Southern Politics... and that my dear friends is how a Plutocracy functions. you vote as you are told, by the wealthy, because in their ideals, Democracy is ONLY FOR THE Wealthy Plutocrats.... NOT FOR YOU
It's the exact same things as the long history of "white privilege" it was designed by wealthy and specifically for the wealthy, the only thing the poor whites got was the ability to move about without having to show papers to do so, but their movement was controlled by "low wages" and sordid conditions... if they left one poor state sector, all they could do was go to another poor state sector... and the cycle of the poor has continued to this day.

This is the cycle of how "ignorance gave rise to every Dictator that has ever come to be... and people in this 21st Century are too Ignorantly devoted to drama and belligerence, of his "daily attack mentality" to wake up and see... they are the ones who will suffer the results of those attacks..

You can't fix that kind of stupid.... it simply has to die out over time... Some are simply to old and UN-groomed in the processes to invest themselves in learning, and some are die hard bigots deep within themselves, because they were raised and trained within the cycle of such ignorance. the Real Truth would shatter the malice groomed and embraced life concept that has been drilled in them their entire life. Then there are the hard core racist, too stupid to know that racism has not gained them anything but a miserable life of continual anguish and incapability to focus on learning how to live in a civil society. It they can't find one thing or group to fight, they pursue another, and when there is no one to attack and fight, they attack and fight each other, kill off the family, teach their kids to kill other kids, and kids result to kill the family, they mass murder innocent people... and march around talking about "white pride", because they have demonstrated their ideal of that is "savagery upon and against others"... That's a sickness that will die out in America, because its is evil in the core.

Nothing illegal. Ballot access is what the state wants it to be. They can change in motion, if the state allows so.
