A few questions for right-wingers and 'centrists'

    1. Would you like to see American workers receive a larger or smaller share of income compared to owners?

    2. Would you like to see more or fewer Americans have affordable healthcare?

    3. Would you like to see money play a larger or smaller role in who wins elections?

    4. Would you like to see all full-time jobs provide a living wage, or some that pay less, even far less?

    5. Would you like more or less global poverty?

    1. I want to see American worker getting paid according to the value they bring to their employer...which is exactly what happens when the government doesn't put their thumb on the scales.

    2. All Americans have affordable health care...if they are able to afford it. But that's up to the particular American.

    3. I would like to see voters elect politicians who didn't sell their souls to the highest bidder.

    4. There is no such thing as a "living wage". There is only a wage that both the employer and the employee agree upon.

    5. I don't care about "global poverty". I care about "my poverty".

The very concept of employment actually depends on paying an employee less than the value they bring to their employer.

    2. All Americans have affordable health care...if they are able to afford it. But that's up to the particular American.
That's now how the ****in word "affordable" works.

    3. I would like to see voters elect politicians who didn't sell their souls to the highest bidder.
Let me know when you have such a candidate.

    4. There is no such thing as a "living wage". There is only a wage that both the employer and the employee agree upon.
Circular. "This wage is correct because it is the current wage."

    5. I don't care about "global poverty". I care about "my poverty".
You don't care about poverty at all, you care about yourself.

    1. Don't care
    2. Yes
    3. Don't care as long as its no string attached
    4. Poorly worded question living wage isn't a thing I got by just fine on minimum wage, so no
    5. Generally speaking yes but if it requires me to give money or spend more on goods then No

What fundamentally separates the right from the left on economics is the recognition that resource scarcity exists and that if you want to pursue certain goals you have to sacrifice others that may also be in themselves desirable. For example, if you want the first world to provide aid to the dysfunctional populations of the third world, you need to prevent the former from being overrun by the latter, even though such a policy would be to the immediate material detriment of some of the latter. Asking what someone would "like" to be the case is unproductive since the real world doesn't operate on wish fulfillment.

A question for the left: How do you expect to pay for it? Free everything is going to Hoover up your capital.

Of course. The company wants to make a profit, after all. But the wage is still according to the value of the employee.

That's now how the ****in word "affordable" works.

considered to be within one's financial means.

I will. (don't hold your breath)

Circular. "This wage is correct because it is the current wage."
I said nothing about "current wage". I said "agree upon".

    Correct.

The way you want to go about trying to solve this via left wing authoritarianism, absolutely not... on all counts.

That is painfully stupid. When I read it I felt a stabbing pain behind both eyes, as if millions of neurons cried out and were suddenly silenced.

That is how stupid your post was.
