When they call us "liberals" what they really mean to say is that we are civilized people who care about the world and don't think everything is a freaking joke. They want to cause chaos, hate, and division.
When they want to attack people for holding different beliefs or looking different than them, it shows their insecurity and immorality.
When they say Fake News, and only listen to Trump or Trump lackeys, that's really propaganda.
When they say America isn't a Democracy, it's a republic, they want it to be run by a tin-foil hat dictator named Trump.
 
It's more like the willfully ignorant versus the rest of america. Republicans are out for the lowest common denominator while dems are out for the largest common denominator.

Yeah I think that would fall under propaganda vs facts. It's almost pointless to debate politics IRL now... Which is sad.
 
It's all of that and right vs left. I know Trump is uniquely disgusting as a human being, but I'm not taking my eye off of policies I support for the sake of civility.

I wonder why people accept what Moscow Mitch is doing? If people let things be as they are now (not secure next election) and also allow gerrymandering along other silly stuff (like how voting can be harder thing to do for some people). US can't get much respect as long as they can't ensure fair elections and sane policies. But anyway, it's really fun to watch what is happening now, Trump is endless source of silly things and base like to lick Trump's backside all day long - can't get much more fun xD
 
The American liberal Democratic Party is all but completely gone. For the most part, it has been changed by the corporate super-rich to being the International Corporate-Fascism Party - the vehemently opposes and is the diametric opposite of traditional Democratic liberalism
 
I am a never Trump republican who has never voted blue and feels my party let me down by settling for the Don. Here in my state of Utah the Trump train has left the station and for the first time in my memory the state has a real risk of turning blue in 2020 as Trump's popularity is waning. It used to be that character mattered, not so much anymore as we watch this dumpster fire play out. The few positive impacts he has made are and will constantly be overshadowed by his ignorance and deplorable behavior. He is actively dismantling relationships with allies that were built to help protect our country and the world and I'm hopeful the damage won't be something that can't be repaired once he's out of office. I hope the party presents a qualified candidate for a primary so I can feel part of the process again and not feel like a bystander to rhetoric over substance crowd which simply can't be reasoned with.

I honestly don't think that is what they mean when they call people liberals. If anything I think it is not a back-handed compliment concerning civility, as they often think the Left is more violent and rude.
I think they use it as a catch-all phrase for those people they disagree with. It doesn't really matter if that person is a liberal or not.

If anyone dares to disagree with "from each according to their ability (to pay more taxes), to each according to their need (for more free goods/services)" then they must be labeled as uncivil, insecure, immoral, racist, white nationalist and fascist. ;)

The hypocrisy of the OP is noted.

BTW, Joe Biden has declared that "We choose truth over facts!".

There isn't a lot of self-reflection in such a comment. I don't know of any group of people, aside from maybe Phish fans, who are as blindly devoted to someone as Trump supporters.
I don't recall ever being fully in the basket for any one candidate in my entire life.
Democrats have a lot of problems to over come, no doubt.
But Trump supporters shouldn't sell themselves short on their level of problems.

Alternative vs. Reality

Like Tariff Trade Wars is workable/working. Like following the idealism of the Chosen One isn't false. Like every word out of Trump's mouth isn't propaganda or a lie. Like lifting his leg on every one of our allies while comforting our enemies and dictators while publicly eschewing our own intelligence agencies, being as patriotic as Americans can be, is not turning us into a second-rate power. Like giving up the moral role of the leader of the free world isn't changing this country, America (for those of you who don't realize we're a liberal democracy, not a dictatorship) into a second-rate power. Like forcing the Legislative and Judicial branches to bow down before Il Duce isn't making us a third-world dictatorship, second-rate country.
