Florida school hires combat vets with semi-automatic rifles to protect students from active shooters

New Orleans 16.6 per 100,000
Memphis 15 per 100,000
Baltimore 12.6 per 100,000
St. Louis 11.4 per 100,000
Detroit 8.2 per 100,000
Chicago 8.1 per 100,000
Milwaukee 8.9 per 100,000
Kansas City 8.2 per 100,000
Washington DC 9 per 100,000

Now show me 9 American cities that are safest with more gun control than the ones I listed. How about show me half. 4 or 5 will do.

Do I need to list the states with the most gun deaths.

They are lax gun law gop controlled states

Even if you did remove them.....you are very wrong

Sorry if I don't believe you but, I don't believe you.

Suicide by firearm makes up almost two-thirds of all gun-related deaths in the U.S. 36,100 people die from firearms each year in the U.S. Suicides make up over 21,300 of those deaths, while homicides only make up 11,000. When you factor in the 330 million population vs gun homicides you wind up with 3.3 per 100,000 which include all states combined.

Now, prove me wrong.

Ok. Remove the suicides also in other countries and show me who wins

So you are conceding that you can't find any states with high gun related homicides with lax gun regulations?

Isn't that the point?

Are you conceding most gun deaths are in states with lax gun laws?

Our schools don't look like war zones, first off.

With more and more massacres, and now the suggestion of putting combat vets to patrol them, it looks like that's where we are heading.

Second, The United States isn't the only country that has school shootings.

We have more massacres than the next top 4 countries. Combined.

We have way more people.

Since when did gun deaths by suicide get in the picture? Why would anyone care? Does someone killing themselves with a gun have anything to do with others being killed? No. You just can't make the numbers work without suicides.

Guns are less than 50% of all suicides anyway. Are we going to lump every other suicide into the picture. How does suicide relate to murder. Are you more concerned you might be killed by someone who commits suicide with a gun or would you be more concerned by someone who is committing homicide with a gun?

We know you can't make the numbers work without suicides. You know you can't make the numbers work without suicides. So why are you trying to make an argument that has no foundation in reality?

So that statement holds true whether you consider total numbers or per capita numbers. Take your pick- it comes out to the same conclusion.

The only difference is that the per capita figures refute your claim that this is because we just have more people.

I'm sure you know this stuff. You just sound like you are trying to argue for argument sake. Why?

The number of massacres in England increased after the gun ban in 96, or 97, whichever year it was. How do you explain that?
