Florida school hires combat vets with semi-automatic rifles to protect students from active shooters

Here's the solution to school shootings.

Hey, did he call them 'assault rifles'? That police chief? Sure he did.
Must be some kind of dumb**** libtard who don't know squat about guns.

Something tells me that Principal has some combat experience of his own. He certainly thinks like a military man...overwhelming advantage.

Don't make me cut-and-paste from the article!

Aw, what the hell. From the OP link...

"Assault rifles, whether you are for them or against them, are prolific in our society," Chief Scott Tyler said in December to the Herald-Tribune."

Agreed. And IMO he made a good point in justifying that need for parity.

Glad he is being honest about it. I prefer them to have semi automatic AR 15s. I still have never heard the Liberals definition of an assault rifle anyway.

Exactly what is the difference between an assault rifle and any other semi automatic rifle. I would love to hear this.

The Blaze - Media Bias/Fact Check

RIGHT BIAS
These media sources are moderately to strongly biased toward conservative causes through story selection and/or political affiliation. They may utilize strong loaded words (wording that attempts to influence an audience by using appeal to emotion or stereotypes), publish misleading reports and omit reporting of information that may damage conservative causes. Some sources in this category may be untrustworthy. See all Right Bias sources.

Overall, we rate The Blaze strongly Right Biased based on story selection that almost always favors the right and Mixed for factual reporting due to a few failed a check and loaded emotional headlines.

You shoud have used an AR15.

If they're select fire, then his discription is accurate.

Do you have a point? No? That's what I thought.

It's a sad state for a society to be in to need its combat veterans to protect children at school.

Yes. It is.

Nevertheless, we must protect our children, right?

When I hear arming "combat vets," this comes to mind.

There are bad people in the world; always has been and always will be. It just so happens that schools have become one of their targets de'jour.

I think it says something for our society that we have rough men, ready to do violence on the behalf of those who are unable, or unwilling.

Absolutely, but a more effective solution is to target the problem at the source, not once it's already on your doorstep.

I think it's great. Good for the vets, and I hope they can develop good relationships with the kids, and maybe the kids will learn more about our vets and our military.

Every society has such men, but typically they don't have to waste their time guarding schools from mad gunmen.

Of course it would, since you don't get too much light in your office.

Those of us on the outter limits, or that have been on the outter limits see this, when someone says "combat veterans".

It would be exceedingly hypocritical to be trying to force an assault rifle ban *because of mass shootings* and then not allow the people hired to prevent mass shootings from being equally armed and at a disadvantage.

But if ARs arent 'the problem,' then why do they want a ban?

But did you see any direct far-right bias in the article? I checked on the same thing for the source. I still thought the article was pretty straightforward.

Kids in this country get plenty of experience already with vets and the military. I'm not opposed to meet and greet but I could do without armed guards.

Says who? Where is that rule written in stone?

Are you one of those folks that has the infantile belief that there is honor among criminals?

Bad people do bad things. There is no such thing as a target that is off limits. It's dangerous to believe it is.
