Why do most white evangelicals vote Republican?

If you answer your own question honestly, it goes a long way to explaining how we got to “President Trump”.

This really comes down to sides, not people or personalities.
Which side is more likely to promote God, Christianity, faith, values? Heck...forget about promoting, the left not only doesn’t promote those things they mock them, ridicule them, actively lobby against them. Need proof? Heck just look at the ongoing thread titles on this site.

Has to do with the Evangelicals belief in end of days prophecy.

The GOP are historically more tempt to start wars.

The GOP are also the party that needs enemies to justify thier existence.

Both of these mean if pushed correctly, that the evangelicals can force the end of days and the return of Jesus. This is basically what has happened. There are reasons for the normally anti-Semite Evangelicals to openly support Trump and Netanyahu...these 2 men and thier followers have a good chance in starting the final conflict that will wipe out the Jews as said in prophecy and bring Jesus back.

Feel free to try to support your comment about the GOP being more willing to start wars.

Well, when 'christians' start demonstrating the 'values' you espouse and actually adhere to them, there won't be any need for ridicule or accusations of hypocrisy, will there?

I was referring to shooting. I would have thought that was clear enough considering my previous post.

A massacre is a massacre. The weapon is irrelevant. Besides, you said "no mass killings".

Do try not to split hairs, there's a good chap. I will repeat that EVERY advanced nation with stringent gun legislation, and which has seen the carnage guns in the wrong hands can do, has seen dramatic drops in gun-related crimes since that legislation was introduced. And no, we are no less 'free' than you lot just because we don't have, or want, access to guns. America appears singularly impotent to address the epidemic sweeping your country. And why? Money; wads of bribes thrown by the NRA at those with the power to do something. Fact.

But, you haven't seen a drop in murders. In most cases, you've seen an increase in murders.

You're proving that anti-gunners only want to ban guns. Saving lives doesn't have anything to do with it.

Yes, I know you only want to restrict the conversation to "gun crime", because if we added in all violent crime, you're narrative would go down in flames.

Like I said, if you want to talk about violent crime in general, by all means start a thread and I'll be happy to contribute. I'm not denying that violent crime is an issue, so why are you intent on suggesting I am?

The question is not why they vote Republican. That's obvious. The question is how they could possibly support a candidate who embodies the seven deadly sins and who has totally transformed the Republican Party into something that it never has been before.

Do you know what the 7 deadly sins are?

There are actually 36 "deadly" sins, if you count them. What you refer to as the "7 deadly sins" are not really "sins", they're 7 character traits that lead people to sin. Everyone deals with them at some point in life, and some suffer from them more than others. They're not isolated to Donald Trump or the republican party, they're present in all people in both parties. If evangelicals voted based on that, they wouldn't be voting at all.

Because Trump fights. He doesn't seek to apologize for that which he believes or does. He doesn't accept the premises.

Yes, he does fight. He fights with the press, with foreign leaders, with Democrats in general, with anyone who dares to criticize him or disagree with him. Is that really an asset for a president?

England has 55 million people. We have 350 million. Of course it happens here more often.

Then they should have about 1/7 as many mass shootings as we do. Do you really think that's the case?

OH, I realize that everyone is a sinner in one way or another. Carrying your argument to its logical extreme, then, evangelicals could not vote for anyone if they won't vote for a sinner.

So, why don't they just all stay home for the next election and let the rest of us decide who should be president?

They have as many massacres per capita as we do in The United States.

Because that's just stupid, and a good way to get someone truly evil in power. So, no.

Depends what is being fought about.

How do you figure that?

I dont think you are following the campaign closely thus far.

They've already gotten someone totally unqualified elected. I don't see how they can keep someone truly evil from being elected as well.
