It’s nice that we don’t have those laws anymore, but a white nationalist group is rallying in Portland literally today so I’m still going to criticize these sorts of people.

People wonder why today there is still distrust of white policemen... and why there is a lingering still of white policemen using excessive force and murder as a tool when they stop and interact with black people for things as simple as a broken tail light, or selling a cigarette.
This was the history of Police Systems as a tool used to "Contain and Maintain Segregationist Agenda". Sadly, some white men who still in this day and age, were groomed with that ideology and carry it into the public sphere.

What WILL "return" (in quotes because they have never really gone away) is people who would REALLY like to see those back in style.
The hatred is still there...no amount of legislating new laws or banishing old laws can/will change that...

the type of white people who wish for that Savage Mindset of Conduct", is a stain within white society, that white society has to remove.... a great majority of white society have removed themselves from those who embrace such savagery, but their work is not done, until they deal with the continuation of its existence.
It's not a job that any other ethnic or racial group can remove, it has to be removed by white people...

To your point, sure there were men that mistreated women back then, and there still are today, but there wasn't this open disrespect we see in music, theater and TV in general now days. not so much crazy madness of people abducting and killing women

I have know people who are former policemen and active, and some were policemen during the era of high racial issues based on segregationist ideals in the 2 decades immediately post civil rights. But these men, exhibit no racism... and when I talk to them and watch them, they treat people fairly as equals. I work with some of them everyday.
As to Abortion... I don't want to make a choice for a woman... but I do think if they are making that choice, they should do it as early as possible.

I have seen areas that "whites no longer pursue work, mainly because the pay is not progressive as it was back in the days when white people held those jobs. Example: City Government, County and Parish Government Jobs) Those jobs are occupied by a lot of blacks in "smaller cities"... but in Big Cities where the pay is still high, the higher jobs in many of those Major Cities is still held by white people.
Executives in Corporations is still dominated by white men, and white women... and TOP Fortune 500 companies have predominantly white CEO's.
So.. just what area are you making your claim about?

Black, White, Asian, and Other mostly women do this more than men (In this society I can understand women having their guard up)... but most people I encounter will speak. Y'all are forgetting another driving factor of modern racism.
GOVERNMENT WILL NOT ALLOW RACISM TO GO AWAY.
Sure they'll tell you to your face that they don't like racism, and wish it went away, but in actuality they live off racism. Government NEEDS racism. They people like Al Sharpton to keep racism in your face every day. They NEED people to keep putting "gotcha" politics in your face. They need to pigeonhole races into groups. Divide and conquer. This applies to both sides of the aisle.

They people like Al Sharpton to keep racism in your face every day. They NEED people to keep putting "gotcha" politics in your face. They need to pigeonhole races into groups. Divide and conquer. This applies to both sides of the aisle.

You're right, we have come a long way in those 70 years. Some conservatives have even claimed that, 'we've arrived', as if we've actually achieved equality. But Don's election was the result of the whitelash of far too many conservatives.
Before Don, we had been making great strides on our journey to equality, but every movement has its achievements and its setbacks. So don't give up or get discouraged, we'll get back on the road to equality in just over a year...

Al Sharpton is only a "white people's self assumed concept of a boogie man", because he stand for Civil and Civic Justice. white society has ALWAYS tired to VILIFY any black person that stands up for Civil Rights for All.
Because many still what the things listed in the OP... which is exactly the stuff the white people who say "we want to keep our way of life"... (they want what Jim Crow Gave them and they want what the White Nationalist white male dominated society was all about).... I'd bet you never even listened to what Sharpton has to say... the same as many Right Winger NEVER listened to the actual words MLK said... they just utter the spin that has been passed on to launch immediate denial based attack as any black people who speak up about Civil and Civil Equality.
Many white people are still fine with Racism, as long as it puts them on top and first in line...

Government does not promote Racism... you are speaking in the likes of "George Wallace", who RESENTED THE VERY THOUGHT of black people gaining any benefit from their tax monies.
White people kept taxes low, BECAUSE they used poor whites and black peoples tax money to build up middle class white society and direct tax money "only" to what benefits well to do and wealthy white society, while neglecting poor white and black society. ANYTIME anything is said to be for poor whites and minorities, the wealthy Republican politicias then and only then, go into near heart attack mode crying about debt and deficits.
Taxes would have ALWAYS been higher IF Tax Monies had been used to "help all communities built up, which include poor whites and poor blacks. (sadly, this is something that poor white and working poor whites have been led to overlook for many many many decades, and the results is the expanse of poor white communities and the continuance of poor black communities).
Poor white people in every state OUTPACE any other group in America as being the BULK Beneficiaries of Public Service Resources... but many try to hide it, because they know the well to do whites will as they always have 'call them poor white trash... so they do their best to hide and deny they receive these benefits.

It never happened because, by the time that "networks" evolved, the primary interest of those who controlled the media outlets of major circulation was "making the most money possible and that means increasing circulation as much as possible and that means publishing whatever will titillate the media consumers the most and to hell with anything that won't fit in the remaining space available.

"Granny's Fashion Rule" used to be "If you have to keep pulling it up or pulling it down - it doesn't fit and you shouldn't be wearing it.". Strangely enough that applied to both males and females.

Poor and working poor whites people should be the last group to engage in, think and embrace racism within their ranks... They should read the history as to how and why the wealthy considered them and many today still consider them as "Poor white trash"; there's a long history within its origins.
For 100's of years, "the wealthy" have been trying to 'emulate European Royalty based on Hoarding Wealth.... and promoting class divisions, and pitting the poor whites against the poor blacks.... to ensure to keep wages low and dissension high... while the wealthy "fleece the system to hoard more wealth". The wealthy today, expect the working poor to exalt them as if their wealthy makes them Royal like. they have been trying to dominate politics in America for their own specific agenda, at the expense of the working people, the working poor and the dire poor of "all" ethnicities.

Martin Luther Kings, Jr. Tried his entire life to "bring the knowledge, understanding and wisdom to poor whites society, but they would not listen and did not consider his words to be a benefit to them... How wrong they have been!!!!
LBJ tried to bring correction to this madness with the War on Poverty and The Civil Rights Act... and The Great Society Agenda.

Unfortunately the reality is that, if you believe that you are helpless against your oppressors you start looking for someone to oppress yourself because that is the only way that you can (effectively) preserve your self-dignity. It is, of course, in the interests of the classes that are higher up on the power chain to convince those below them of two things [a] that they ARE powerless against those higher up on the power chain, and that they CAN oppress those lower down on the power chain. (Tossing in "and [c] you always have some chance of actually moving up the power chain" is a bonus but not mandatory.)
