Pretty much how I see it also, and I'll vote for whomever wins the Democrat primary.

Democrat candidates who fail to snag the Dem presidential primary - governors, mayors, unattached - should run for open Senate seats wherever possible.

Anyway, I'm more than a little cynical here, but at least we can agree that Trump is unqualified in every way to be President and should be removed however we can no later than January 2021. So until then I'll join hands with Nichols and the other GOP Never Trumpers, and also hope for the total destruction of the GOP as a political force, at least nationally. It's not just Trump anymore. The GOP is now the Trump GOP. Removing Trump won't change that, only electoral defeats up and down the line will change that. Unless that happens, we'll just get a more competent Trump next time, which will be far worse in every way.

Trumpism is a personality cult and once he gone so is the GOP. The trick will be to get rid of him. I doubt if he will leave gracefully when he loses. He will excite his cult and there will be violence. It will be worth it though because Trump is not our President even now.

Who should Christians vote for, sex perverts who support Christian principles or sex perverts who hate God and Christians and Christian values? There is no other choice. Americans will either vote for a sinner or they will not vote at all. It is better to vote for a sinner who shows some respect for Godly values than a sinner who shows no respect for God at all.

I'm not. I voted third party in 2016 because of my disdain for both major party nominees. As I stated many times, I won't be voting for Trump, but that doesn't automatically mean I'll vote for the Democrat either. That depends on whom they nominate. If the Democrat is more or less a moderate, center, center left, then that Democrat will have my vote. I'll even work to get that Democrat elected. If that Democrat if way out there on the extreme left, third party here I come.

I've always said 2020 boils down to whom the Democrats nominate. Nominate someone who is attractive to independents, the Democrats will win in a landslide. Nominate someone way out there, someone not seen as mainstream America, not attractive to those whose views are somewhere in-between the two major parties, another 2016 is possible. Why change one obnoxious kook with a tactful kook.

Your's is only a temporary solution but given the circumstances perhaps a necessary one. The US needs a viable and reasonable second party so the bigger question is what to do about the Republican Party? You're a smart fellow with a world of experience. Why not begin to reform and renew the GOP (I refuse to use the term rebrand because that's just hiding the problems rather than fixing them) into something that conservative Americans can be proud of again? Voting is a passive remedy, but joining and shaping the Republican Party going forward is necessary if it is to survive in a demographically and philosophically changing America. You have the smarts, the experience, the drive, the focus and the will it seems but do you have the desire/appetite to become a shaper rather than a voter?

My interest is perked. Why would you consider voting for Warren? I've decided that I will either vote 3rd party or not at all again in 2020, unless a D catches my eye (I've never voted for one in the presidential election). Warren intrigues me, but only because I'm a nerd. I don't see her as a leader. Sure, she has "plans", but it doesn't take a leader to come up with plans.

Here's my view:
* Biden - I might vote for him, though I think he's just a place-holder for 4 years.
* Sanders - cannot vote for, ever.
* Warren - could consider, but leaning "no".
* Harris - if she gets the next round, I will wait to see what she does in the general

Those are really the only ones left. Buttigieg had promise, but he's not ready. I hope he keeps gaining experience, I like his intelligence. He needs to learn how to work with non-white ethnic groups.
