Both times when I was buying houses, I told my agent that anyplace with HOAs or CCRs was out of the question, dont even bother showing me those.

Do you ask Cubans the same question, when they fly their flag in the US? Why don't you associate the Cuban flag with murderers like Castro and Guevara?


The fact is, you have different moral standards for different flags, which makes you no different, in principle, than the Kissimmee HOA in the article. But don't worry, you're the same as every other leftist in this thread.

Yep, just like some siding and trim color combinations are better than others. I even had one HOA insist that I produce (additional) elevation drawings of an uncovered deck's plans - so that they could determine if building the deck (supported by six 4x4 posts) would "affect drainage".

last time was in Herndon Va

We had a small hole in our siding in the BACK of the house....the buyer didnt care, and we never even knew about it

but the HOA decided it MUST be fixed before the sale could proceed

It was aluminum siding....and getting it fixed and color matched was a royal pain in the ass

damn i wanted to strangle those idiots....our house backed to a fence, which backed to a forest and then a street....NO ONE WOULD EVER SEE THE BACK

talk about wanna be Hitlers....these people who run HOA's are the kings of being assholes

You never did answer what heritage is being celebrated by a flag used to represent a new nation which went to war in part to defend slavery. A Cuban might be flying that flag because it is was their homeland and they still have pride in it; Castro and Guevara are just parts of a much longer history. What broader national history is being celebrated by a flag specifically flown during the secession of southern states?

The first thing anyone living in that development should do is request permission to fly their flag. Hard to believe a vet wouldn't understand protocol.
