Trump and his PACs have raised over $233 million with 61% of that money from small donations under $200. That is up from Obama's 43% in 2012 and Joe Bidens current 38% and Kamala Harris 41%.

Since the time that all 20 Democratic candidates started fundraising in 2019, all 20 Democrats have only pulled in $209 million COMBINED.

The American people are demanding a secure border, demanding an end to the exploitative and unfair trade policies, demanding an end to an unresponsive swamp culture, against taxing American's to provide free healthcare to Illegals, while expanding the base to "today's blue-collar and working Americans.

I was with you until the bolded. Do you not find it troubling that money is the first metric discussed when speaking to a candidate’s electability?

You can't win an election if you don't have the financial support or the support of the people. With Trumps 233 million with 61% from small donors its a major indication of how the people will vote.

You have made my point.

The reason small donations are important is the voters are invested in the candidate when they put their money down.

Money is the mothers milk of politics.

The amount of money that is coming in is phenomenal and is indicative of Trump's popularity and probability for reelection.
Never trust the polls... Heck, I did that in 2016, and never again will I put any faith in them.

Clinton raised over $560 million and lost in 2016. Money doesn't always equal victory, so learn from our mistake of over reading that metric.

And the polls correctly predicted the popular vote, they just missed it in the midwest. Furthermore, the polls were pretty spot on back in November, so ignore them at your own peril.

1. He's running alone in the Republican field, so it's easy to rake in all that money, when they're no competition.
2. The Democratic voters are waiting longer to get a better idea of who they support. Once there is a nominee, better money will roll in for them.
3. If money was everything, Clinton would have won.

Please believe this and get overconfident, just Clinton did.

This comparison doesn't matter much until a nominee has been declared.

No one cares. Trump doesnt give a **** about normal every day americans. He has taken millions from billionaires and has been campaigning for 2 damned years.

Get overconfident, cons.

I wonder if Trump will capture more of the black vote or will they stay home again.

The polls were not spot on....

Relying largely on opinion polls, election forecasters put Clinton’s chance of winning at anywhere from 70% to as high as 99%, and pegged her as the heavy favorite to win a number of states such as Pennsylvania and Wisconsin that in the end were taken by Trump.

How could the polls have been so wrong about the state of the election?

There is a great deal of speculation but no clear answers as to the cause of the disconnect, but there is one point of agreement: Across the board, polls underestimated Trump’s level of support. With few exceptions, the final round of public polling showed Clinton with a lead of 1 to 7 percentage points in the national popular vote. State-level polling was more variable, but there were few instances where polls overstated Trump’s support.

The amount of money pouring in for Trump now is because he is still very much supported.
There were also a lot of people who secretly were behind Trump but wouldn't admit it to the pollsters; the Bradley effect. When they got to the polls, that's where they made their voice known...

i'm looking forward to voting against him.

Nope, Clinton only raised 43% from small donors. Most of hers was corporate money.

But everyday Americans give a s**t about Trump and his donations prove it. He has raised more money that all 20 Democrats combined. THis will be a walk in the park come election day

the key factor is the small donations. that means average people not major corporations.
this means that trump still has massive support from the population.
the question is will it continue.

Hes been campaigning for the past two years. Of course hes raised the most. There are reports of this from 2017. It literally means nothing.

Please, get overconfident.

Will it? Do you think that people might actually vote according to his record which, frankly, hasn't amounted to much more than vacuous promises routinely broken?

As with so many things in our society, people vote with their dollars.

The seasonal bazaar gave way to the General Mercantile gave way to Sears, gave way to sprawling malls, gave way to WalMart, gave way to internet shopping.

As WaPo said in the 70's: "Follow the money". What's happening now usually tells you what's about to happen.

It didn't help that someone doxed a number of his donators, including ones that didn't donate to him at all. Which caused massive surge in support for him afterwards.

The significance of the number of small donations reveals two things:

1. The Trump organization has figured out how to contact the "small" donors. This scares the living crap out of the Democrat Socialists.

2. The "small" donors are numerous and favorably impressed.

The obvious expectation raised by these two significant facts is that the Dem-Soc nominee is about to suffer an outcome similar to McGovern or Mondale. The only question left is how significant their defeat will be.

Did Barnum say that we need to examine real world facts to determine the best course of action through the real world?
