The American people have always strongly supported it - it has over 80% support, and only 10% opposed.

But in the very picture of corruption, Republicans since they became corrupt libertarian plutocracts entirely, have been trying to gut it. They now have. trump has greatly weakened the law, and the changes take effect in 30 days.

It's disgusting and one more large reason we need to elect Democrats who will restore the protections, before too many species are killed off. 99% of the species the act has protected have not gone extinct. We need to continue that.

The change impacts only future threatened species’ listings or reclassifications from endangered to threatened status and does not apply to species already listed as threatened. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service will craft species-specific 4(d) rules for each future threatened species determination as deemed necessary and advisable for the conservation of the species, as has been common practice for many species listed as threatened in recent years.

The ESA directs that determinations to add or remove a species from the lists of threatened or endangered species be based solely on the best available scientific and commercial information, and these will remain the only criteria on which listing determinations will be based. The regulations retain language stating, “The Secretary shall make a [listing] determination solely on the basis of the best scientific and commercial information regarding a species’ status.”

So relax, the sky isn't falling and nobody is going to put Bald Eagles on the dinner menu.

Do you ever get tired of spewing lies? I watched how it changed Spicer. You could see the lies he was spewing suck his soul out of him at every press briefing. I wonder what toll it has on folks like you.

Yes, we know, Only you are the enlightened one watching people getting their souls sucked out at every turn. Any law passed to allow 3rd term abortions will be used by every abortion clinic in that state. I know its hard for a Liberal to comprehend but if you took the time to read it you might be a little more enlightened.

We both know you're simply using agitprop to shift the overton window; just admit it. You know the law does not do what you're claiming, and no one should take your commentary seriously.

"Commercial information" has no place in the discussion of environment or endangered species.

It is a biological issue, not a monetary one...

OMG, thats what you got out of that? Commercial information? It means they will be polling outside resources to make future determinations of classifications of different species for endangered or threatened classifications meaning it isn't going to be just a government ruling. They are going to use outside resources to help make these determinations so some idiot sitting at a desk in DC isn't making decisions they have no clue about.
