This video shows that on average women have WAYYYY more privilege than males when it comes to societal norms. If a man did this he would be in prison and on a sex offender list. She sexually assaulted him on camera in January and didnt get convicted until July, With video proof! 7 months later! With a whopping fine of 50$!

Couple this with the fact that women commit the majority of domestic abuse?

Female Privilege and Toxic Femininity are very real things.

She's lucky this guy had good self-control of his emotions & anger. Another guy might have given her a quick tittie-twister back, and called it even!

What was this idiot women doing, to not just do what she did, but to do it on camera in a highly attended public place where all eyes were on the victim, and then she loudly, unambiguously, and clearly (& proudly!) admits what she's done is intentional and a purposeful crime (again, on camera)!

I suspect - for whatever reason - the judge didn't want her saddled with a sex-crime record.

We are talking about if someone walks up and sexually abuses you. Men usually get convicted for way more time of the same crime that a female commits. (i.e. teachers raping students statutorily) Although they are finally starting to give women teacher sex offenders more hefty prison sentences its still not balanced.

I'm not 100% sue that if a guy just walked up to a woman on the street and just kind of swatted at her vagina if he'd get more than 5 days in jail and a $50 fine. It's possible, but I'm not sure. This seems like a fairly reasonable sentence given the facts. This lady is very obviously not a sex offender and shouldn't need to register as such. 5 nights in jail I'm sure has made here very aware that this **** isn't acceptable.

Shes a damn sex offender. Guys get put on the sex offender list just for peeing in public.

Got a source for the bolded bit?

Thats probably what I would have done and got thrown in prison for a year.

Misogyny vibes - I'm out :inandout:

I imagine that's a fairly rare event. You are acting as though every guy that gets caught peeing in the street goes to jail and has to register. You only hear about those types of cases because they are outliers. Not the typical result.

I think she should have got more because she lied about the action.

Beyond that...this is all kinda ridiculous.

Trumps comments were douchey...but FFS...can people finally be honest about what he SAID? Trump never claimed he could go around indiscriminately grabbing women by the *****. Its OBVIOUS the ****ing nitwit he was talking to actually believed that was the case. Its OBVIOUS there are still many people that cling to the lie and many of the people clinging to that lie are so ****ing vapid they believe it without ever bothering to understand the facts. If anything what it proves is that the rat party leaders think so little of the idiots that support them that they KNOW they can make the claim based on a lie and their idiot supporters are just going bob their heads and nod adoringly, knit a bunch of ***** hats, and protest...based on a lie. Trump NEVER...repeat...NEVER claimed he could just go around grabbing women by the *****. There has been a national movement built on a lie. What he SAID was that there were some women at certain gatherings that are there for stars and that THOSE WOMEN will let you do anything...including grab them by the *****.

Douchey thing to say? Sure. Does anyone doubt what he actually said was true?

And does that mean anyone...men or women...should have the right to just indiscriminately grab people by the genitals? Of course not...and it was never said that they should.

So to the incident in question.

Meh. The guy was OBVIOUSLY not damaged and it was OBVIOUSLY a political act not a sexual act. So the sentence seems rather appropriate and the video evidence supports it. Other than the lying about it, I think rather than a fine she should have been made to go wash his car or be his maid for a day...a similar sentence for a stupid act.

And since I have already given this way more time than I planned on I would point out that this example is similar to ones we use when discussing the issue of sexual assault with soldiers. When we talk about "how would YOU feel if someone rubbed up against you or grabbed your ass without your consent?" the common response is "**** yeah!!!Where do I sign up for that!!!" To which I usually say..."no need to wait...come here and I'll do it right now" to which I usually get "**** that!!! You are a dude! I meant with a woman. I'd kick your ass!" to which my usual response is "you can TRY to kick my ass...and what if your fighting just turns me on more and I force you and bend you over the desk"? Usually the hypocrisy in their response sinks in and they get it. Unwanted is unwanted...and when you dont get to say, it is or can be traumatic. Its a good teaching moment.

I'm glad the judge used some common sense. No one was harmed.

We have too many people in prison who are not a danger to anyone.

That's an odd comparison. Sexual abuse or harassment? Which is it in this case?

I would have succinctly, calmly, and factually, told her:

"No one lays their hands on me"

Then I would have immediately stopped engaging her and walked over to the nearby police, telling them that I need to press charges, following-up by insisting on the patrol officers getting some brass down there if they rebuked my attempt to file charges.

A number one rule in my house and while raising my kids, is:

"Do not touch others, or their property!"

And I'll be damn if I'd let some stranger with a bad attitude and lack of self control do something to me that's so counter to my personal values.

Whoa! Thanks, roughdraft274! I missed the 5 days and (6 mos probation), and had to re-watch the video as it is was only divulged near the end - if one stops the video & reads the charging document.

This OP is misleading, in my opinion. It implies that all the perp got was a 50 buck fine, when in reality she got 5 days in jail (subsequently suspended-sentence), 6 months probation, and a 50 dollar fine!

Her sentence is a far cry from that implied in the OP, and I now believe it is reasonably commensurate with the situation. And she pleaded guilty to the charge of (misdemeanor) "sex abuse". That was the exactly crime & statute used in the charging document. This last, is a big deal. And, it will follow her around for the rest of her life. If she ever were to pull some similar stunt like this again, as a re-offender she will have quite the piper to pay. Judges and the public are taking sexual abuse very seriously today - as they should.

The charging document shows she was charged with - and subsequently pleaded guilty to - "misdemeanor "sexual abuse". She was sentenced to 5 days (suspended), and 6 mos probation in addition to the 50 buck fine.

Despite it being a misdemeanor with no actual time spent in jail, this strikes me as a fairly stiff - but appropriate - sentence (due to the specific charge). She can definitely cross School Teacher & Daycare Worker/Owner off her list of possible aspiring careers! And good luck to her volunteering at her kids' schools, sports activities, or Girl Scout troop!

She's going to pay a stiff price for her indiscretion and lack of self-control.

It says right in the OP title.... 5 days jail... 50$ fine....

And I thought we're the ones with TDS?

I guess ur right its just a misdemeanor, after reading up on it... But it also says if you grab someones genitals on purpose without permissions you may sue that for quite a bit of money.

I believe everyone's confusing sexual assault with assault. Sexual assault is usually defined as having something to do with sex. It varies by state, but the ones that define it as simple contact include, "for the purpose of sexual arousal or gratification"

If two men get into a bar fight and during the fight one kicks the other in the groin, he won't be charged with sexual assault. Even if both were gay...

It says right in the OP title.... 5 days jail... 50$ fine....

Where is the 6-month probation or the conviction on her record?

IMO, it's totally absurd that should do any time or probation. She should be asked to pay $500 to the victim.

I remember a woman stuck her hand in my pants once. I told her I wasn't interested. I didn't call the police. I wasn't emotionally scarred. When did men become such ******s?

Every single inappropriate act doesn't need to be a legal matter.
