Mark my words, trump's support will evaporate and shock most when it does

His rallies tell you everything necessary about his popular support. They tell, for example, that the litany of racism charges is so much slander and libel. Trump does not push racism and the makeup of a crowd-shot shows it. Very diverse. Nor is he a populist. Trump is much to business oriented for that.

His message isn't racism it's anti-elitism, with Democrats and the media as the elites. He preaches middle class values and community pride. It's a very grass roots message and it taps into the same base that gave us the tea party. Democrats and the media have cooperated by persistently treating him a the object of scorn, thereby defeating themselves. The more they attack Trump, the more they alienate their own neglected base. It's genius in its simplicity.

Are you too elitist to see that? Many of the posters in this forum are.

His rallies are only held where he already has support. They tell us nothing at all except for the emotional appeal he has to those who react to simplistic emotional appeals.

Mark my words, no it won't. His supporters aren't backing down. The GOP is too dug in. They can't change their minds without confessing to being cravens among cravens.

The question comes down to what the people who sat at home because of Hillary will do, and whether the Dems once more snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

But what if we have the global recession experts are predicting?

I think a lot of his supporters may not be so much for Trump then, but I also think of my friends grandma. When Obama was running against McCain, she told us the recession that started under GWB wasn’t real. It was fake news created by the liberal media to get Obama elected.

Many Trump supporters will never vote for a Democrat over Trump, because they think the democrats are for open borders and communism.

Since Clintons entire vote margin victory came down to California, it could very easily happen again.

No, Clinton’s margin came down to every state she got votes in... which is every state.

How far gone do you have to be to think the guy who literally owns a golden throne and ****s on a golden toilet is not elitist?

I doubt you will. One of us will be here to see for sure.

I will be here to throw it in your face. Trump will never gain the 3 million popular votes he didn't get in 2016, let alone surpass that. His Presidency had been a failure. It has not won over anyone who didn't already support him. It has more likely eroded the support of swing voters.

There actually is one thing that Trump could do to lose his base, believe it or not: bore them.

But Trump is fully immersed in a game show reality. He knows how not to bore people. Remember that that horrible woman was kept on all throughout the Apprentice because she was horrible and therefore entertaining. That's Trump's mindset.

Yes. I know people who go to his rallies. It’s about fun and entertainment. Unfortunately, he never has policies to help them. His tax cuts and appointments of people like Betsy Devos show that he is more interested in helping his rich friends get richer than doing anything for the base. For them, he fuels there anger, plays into culture wars and racism, oh, and entertains them. His base says, “he is one of us.” But he is the swamp, and he is going drain everything from this country he can for his elite friends.

What is the difference between a cult and a religion? Size. Jones' church was not even the only mass suicide.

No, the only difference between dangerous cults and religion is not size. There are many differences

Funny, but nearly everyone we see in video of Trump rallies is white.

Give it up, guys. All the BS is getting tired and boring, Tell me what the Dems will do to make America greater.

First and foremost, they will have removed Trump from office. That will make America greater.

I hope you are right but the nation cannot afford to become complacent resting on that belief.

Do not underestimate the propaganda power of Russia. They have been masters at it for decades upon decades. Add to that the GOP efforts to gerrymander and oppress voting in non-friendly districts and the EC.

No sir. Do not assume anything. Democrats, independants, and patriotic American's who still possess a good moral fiber need to vote. They need to take someone with them to the polls to vote too. Remember, a simple majority of democrat voters, (like in an honest election) will not keep Trump from getting elected. We learned that lesson. We have to come out in droves to vote to overcome the aforementioned obstacles if we want to remove this **** stain that has blemished our nation.

To clarify, while you're mostly right, DeVos is a billionare who is a religious zealot, who is in that position because she is obsessed with trying to oppose public education and replace it with private, religious schooling as much as possible, not to get rich from it.

That and the DeVos’ bought her the job.

That's a valid point. Part of his drive seems to be that he did everything he could and the elites still wouldn't have him.

In any event, he's anti-elitist in pretty much everything he says and much of what he does. When he's not being anti-elitist, he's being businesslike. Hard as it is to believe sometimes, he does no-nonsense businessman very well.

I paraphrased an old saying slightly. The actual quote is that the only difference between a cult and a sect is the number of followers. Regardless, this is something teach in divinity schools.

But, will you be here to eat your serving of crow?

One point worth noting. Clinton won California by 4.7 million votes. She lost the rest of the country both ways.

Trump is already losing in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania.

A yesterday FOX poll sees Trump losing head-on to Biden, Warren, Sanders, and Harris.

You figure it out.

That fox poll has trump getting one more point on warren or sanders than it does against Biden.....who do you suppose those 1% democrats are who would vote for trump over Warren or Bernie? Anyway, that poll has 22% undecided/other and Biden up by 11.

I'm not complacent. And all that I am sure of is that Trump will not win the popular vote. That doesn't mean he won't possibly win re-election. The Democratic nominee must be focused on the contested states. They must get their supporters in those states excited enough to vote for them. That is the key to winning and ending our national nightmare.

I'll be serving it to you. If you are still here.

How is Trump making America great with his constant lies, unhinged economic and domestic policy, and bigotry/xenophobia? Is it the fact that he is an old white guy makes America great? America is a joke on the world stage because of the Mango Messiah's 24-7 idiocy.
