No wonder so many Republicans stopped having these.

Rep. Chris Stewart’s Utah town hall meeting marked by anger over mass shootings, Trump - The Salt Lake Tribune

The high emotions were on display when Stewart, a Republican, answered that first question in part by saying everyone should condemn violence and racism.

“Then why did you vote no to condemn racism?” shouted out Jamie Carter, of West Bountiful, saying she was referring to Stewart’s vote against a House-passed resolution condemning what it called Trump’s racist remarks against four women House members of color.

...

“The president of the United States, as far as I know, hasn’t shot anyone,” Stewart said. One man yelled in response that “Charles Manson never shot anyone either” as he led a mass-murdering gang.

FYI: Utah is not exactly a liberal bastion. The GOP is in big trouble. This upcoming election is not going to end well for them unless they cheat.

Case in point: Check out what happened to Moscow Mitch when he tried to give a speech last week.

What does Moscow Mitch even mean. Are these people serious or just opposition plants?

Townhalls? Trump doesn't do those. He'd rather step off his private jet, give a speech and then walk away, boring, safe and unoriginal... Plus his campaign seems stuck either in the 00s or 2016 depending on the day.

Thanks for the entertainment Calamity! Yes, I can see why they so many republicans have stopped having these.

I hope Trumpers are so overconfident that they will put "fake news" on a loop.
It will make their defeat all the better.

"Charles Manson never shot anyone either!"
That was good. An equal comeback to the hyperbolic statement, "The president of the United States, as far as I know, hasn’t shot anyone,”

Idiocy, unadulterated.

THer have been plenty of threads explaining why Mitch is considered another Puppet.

What surprised me is Utah, usually a very docile bunch who would not vote Democrat even if their state was on fire. Seeing that much unrest in Kentucky was less surprising, but certainly unexpected as well.

Within 24 hours you had victims of a mass shooting refuse to meet w/him and a top government official resign b/c she didn't want to kiss his ring. Yeah, I feel a turning point. I think his poll numbers will drop and he will increase his currency war and commute criminals but who the hell is fighting for that other than his evangelical crazy believers who think he is sending them secret messages....

I wonder to this day why he did not reach across the aisle on day-one and show his moderate side, throwing his shrinking base under the bus to attract a larger following. Some of his ideas, like bringing work onshore, improving infrastructure, relaxing some drug laws, getting out of wars, etc. would have sold well to the average person. But, he only doubled down on the hate thing. And, now the hate is swallowing up the GOP.

He has dementia and narcissism a bad mix. He can't focus on new topics for too long. Always has to have a hand written note of ready to play top hits, like Lock Her Up. Then he sees everything through the medium of TV, ratings, and crowds. I still think if a liberal candidate wants to charge ahead of Joe Biden they should just combat the Trump messaging with their own.

AOC does it to a point, but she doesn't have nearly the same reach as some of these other candidates could. I know people like civility, but old timey attacks won't grab attention as long as Trump takes up all the oxygen in the room. Unless you had a HUGE media budget and only talked about being positive or Oprah-y stuff like that. I don't see any doing that within the next six months. Maybe if someone smaller makes waves.

Just a small group of troublemakers trying to stop free speech. The same type losers did the same to Pelosi - only Pelosi was too much a coward to continue.

Moscow Mitch refers to Mich bravely blocking any effort to secure our election infrastructure from foreign interference. Moscow loves him, as you do.

I think you folk are forgetting what happened during the 2016 election. Even in Utah, the left astroturfed town hall meetings and made it so that there was no purpose in having the, aaaaaaaaaaaaand....the republicans won all the seats except the one that has always been democrat. Oh yeah...and Trump won the presidency.

Like I said...you folk act like this is something new.

America is becoming woke to Trump's and the Republican party's White Supremacy. Good for America.

I agree. Russia hasn't had their say yet, and obviously Putin wants to help elect the guy who stood on an international stage, and told the world to put their trust in Putin and Russia, not the USA.

And let's face it, a lot of Americans are credulous. It comes with being such a religious nation.

Can you blame them? Democrats have absolutely no civility. It's like they want to live in a third-rate Banana Republic.

Don't get your hopes up. Probably got bused in or paid by some progressive "rent a protester" group. These protests are rarely organized on a strictly grass roots basis. There's money behind them.

Some of his ideas, like bringing work onshore, improving infrastructure, relaxing some drug laws, getting out of wars, were all
"ET CETERA" because he knew that just talking about those things and not actually DOING them was all that was necessary.

He doesn't have a "moderate" side, it's all

Like I said, don't get your hopes up. The capitalist version of the Potemkin village:

Crowds on Demand, a Beverly Hills firm that’s an outspoken player in the business of hiring protesters, boasts on its website that it provides its clients with “protests, rallies, flash-mobs, paparazzi events and other inventive PR stunts.… We provide everything including the people, the materials and even the ideas.”

The company has hired actors to lobby the New Orleans City Council on behalf of a power plant operator, protest a Masons convention in San Francisco and act like supportive fans and paparazzi at an L.A. conference for life coaches.

Paid protesters? They're real — and a Beverly Hills firm that hires them stands accused of extortion in a lawsuit - Los Angeles Times

Is it just me, or does it appear that many of these "grass roots" protesters had the exact same signs? They're obviously professionally printed. Who provided those? Who paid for them?

Are you saying they took a page out of the phony gop/teat party disruptions at Democratic townhalls ten years ago this summer? How soon repubs forget their past!
