I've been a somewhat defender of Comey before and after his termination, in contrast to my fellow conservatives. However over time, as details of FBI activities have been made public, my faith that the man had some redeeming qualities has eroded. If the following story is shown to be true, its imploded.

It is one of the most enduring and consequential mysteries of the Trump-Russia investigation: Why did former FBI Director James Comey refuse to say publicly what he was telling President Trump in private -- that Trump was not the target of an ongoing probe?That refusal ignited a chain of events that has consumed Washington for more than two years – including Comey’s firing by Trump, the appointment of Special Counsel Robert Mueller, and ongoing claims that Trump obstructed justice.

Now an answer is emerging. Sources tell RealClearInvestigations that Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz will soon file a report with evidence indicating that Comey was misleading the president. Even as he repeatedly assured Trump that he was not a target, the former director was secretly trying to build a conspiracy case against the president, while at times acting as an investigative agent. Two U.S. officials briefed on the inspector general’s investigation of possible FBI misconduct said Comey was essentially “running a covert operation against” the president, starting with a private “defensive briefing” he gave Trump just weeks before his inauguration. They said Horowitz has examined high-level FBI text messages and other communications indicating Comey was actually conducting a “counterintelligence assessment” of Trump during that January 2017 meeting in New York. In addition to adding notes of his meetings and phone calls with Trump to the official FBI case file, Comey had an agent inside the White House who reported back to FBI headquarters about Trump and his aides, according to other officials familiar with the matter. ...

Curiously the day before Comey's meeting with Trump in January of 2017, Comey had a meeting with Obama, Biden, Susan Rice, Sally Yates, and James Clapper to discuss exactly how and what would be conveyed to Trump.

“They were hoping to surveil him incidentally, and they were trying to make a case on him,” McCarthy said. “The real reason Comey did not want to repeat publicly the assurances he made to Trump privately is that these assurances were misleading. The FBI strung Trump along, telling him he was not a suspect while structuring the investigation in accordance with the reality that Trump was the main subject."

The FBI investigates criminals or people they suspect do criminal activity. Sometimes they lie about said investigations to the people they investigate. All you really need to watch Law and Order way more.
 
Comey was a lying scumbucket for sure. He leaked information to the press, too.
Just a part of the Trump hating Obama administration scumballs.
 
Something else very disturbing is this:

We know about the WH meeting and who was there. We know that the next day Comey met with Trump and talked about the salacious parts of the dossier.

But we also know that an unnamed person told CNN about Comey's Trump meeting, what they talked about and that opened up the media to talk about the dossier in detail...including the salacious parts.

So...who was that unnamed person? It pretty much HAD to be someone in that WH meeting. The fact that the leaker actually got information wrong about Comey's meeting is an indication that the leaker wasn't Comey. My money is on Clapper or Brennan. And this indicates that not only was Comey working with Obama's White House against the President-Elect, but that others in the Obama administration were also working hand in hand against Trump.

Anyway, it looks like September will be the time when stuff starts being officially revealed. I've been warning Trump haters about this for months. Don't y'all be surprised by what we learn.

So when is Comey going to be indicted? We've been reading about him from Trump and his drooling fan base for the last 2 1/2 years.
 
Leaker Comey is just one of many bad seeds that populated the Washington, DC leadership of the FBI.

“I asked him to, because I thought that might prompt the appointment of a special counsel. And so I asked a close friend of mine to do it,” Mr. Comey testified.

The revelation was among the most striking of the day for Mr. Comey, who spent 21/2 hours answering questions publicly to the Senate intelligence committee.

Ummm...yeah generally when you're investigating someone for a crime you'd prefer not to tell them outright that they're a suspect and give them an opportunity to cover their tracks or obstruct the investigation in anyway. That's standard practice. It's not a scandal at all it's exactly what he should have done. It's the same thing he should have done with Hillary Clinton when looking into her emails although hiding that would have been more difficult.

There's a reason you are read your Miranda rights when you are arrested. Prosecutors and the police are not on your side. There job is to put you in prison if they think you've committed a crime. Your job is to defend yourself.

Should be rather soon! Can't wait to hear from Mueller and how this all ties into his fake investigation. And, how Comey financially benefited from Mueller as well. Check into that one too while you are studying.
 
Comey should probably lawyer up. From signing off on three deceptive FISA requests to illegally giving FBI property to a private citizen to leak to the press, he has committed several crimes.

Yeah, I had to double check because I thought I landed in the conspiracy theory section by mistake. This all sounds like a little raft floating in a sea of poo and the right is all scrambling to get on the same raft.

Ironically, the article in the op uses anonymous sources, which I thought was something that was a big no no when other media outlets engage in the practice.

I admit I was convinced by Comey's Boy Scout act at first. "Gee, golly shucks".
Comey's downfall will be that he thinks he's always the smartest guy in the room.
 
So? He was investigated a person with a lot to investigate. Someone with a checkered past running for president and having backroom deals with a foreign adversary who was involved in influencing the election.

Investigation of potentially corrupt politician doing illegal activity should be investigated by law enforcement.

And all the indictments that piled up prove it was a legit investigation. Unlike "bengazI" and email nonsense that was just political theater
