Patriotic Avatars

I wasn't talking to you but since you are again trying to tell conservatives what is wrong with how they think... you've done enough damage with this post reposted below, and probably should have stopped there...

Apdst made a claim about how liberals are wrong. Many liberals post here.

You're not mad at him?

Abso****inglutely!
Leftists don't like the Constitution.
Everything they disagree with is hate speech.
Oh look, you're disparaging leftists.

I think that's why we see more patriotic avatars. It's like the Betsy Ross flag, false-flag operation which tried to stipulate that the BR flag symbolized oppression. People like me react by saying, "No, you are not going to corrupt patriotism in its many forms", and embrace the flag.
It won't be long before flying an American flag, or singing that National Anthem, is a reason to accuse someone of being a "white nationalist".

Or so you hope.

Leftists believe patriotism is racist.

Common man, just when I start to think you have at least decent person DNA in your body, you pull something stupid like that out of your ass...

Damn!!!

No, not really. I respect individuals who proudly affirm their lean; I don't care if it's "very liberal", "independent", "socialist", "very conservative" or whatever. I assume by claiming "undisclosed" you feel you HAVE a leaning but for some reason you're hesitant to declare yourself. I consider myself a conservatarian with Classic Liberal overtones but that choice wasn't available so I picked "libertarian - right"

Maybe they just don't feel they fit into any category. Maybe they don't want their post viewed through a lens of preconceived ideas about their lean.

Apdst is dependable that way.

Something else I've noticed here is that Conservatives tend to identify themselves as conservative, while more liberals identify as private or other. I have no idea why that it is, but I doubt your nextbto last sentence is the reason.

In my case it is because I remain open minded and do not automatically support or oppose a subject because one party or the other tells me to.

Ever since the tea party took over the Republican party, and they morphed into trump cult members I have had very little time for the bat**** crazy right.

Therefore I currently lean towards logic, and that happens to make me lean left.

That being said I will never commit to one party or another as no party is 100% correct...

I have the American flag in my signature, does that count?

Yeah, maybe.

To me this is some form of subliminal acknowledgement from the left that they would rather complain about our country rather than be proud of it.

And some hide their leaning behind "undisclosed" and question the patriotism of others.

I'm new here, but seems to me this thread should have been posted in the Conspiracy Forum.

I was just reading posts today and seemed to notice something I never noticed before. Maybe it's true and maybe it isn't. But, for those who lean right or are clearly right, I see a lot of patriotic avatars and I don't remember any patriotic avatars off the top of my head from anyone who leans left or are clearly left. I wasn't talking about screen names but avatars. Does anyone who leans left or are clearly left have a patriotic avatar? Anyone? To me this is some form of subliminal acknowledgement from the left that they would rather complain about our country rather than be proud of it. Anyone care to try to prove me wrong?

To me, waving or displaying a flag doesn't make anyone more or less patriotic than those not doing it.

Nope, still learning a few things.

Yip everyone knows everything when they'rer eighteen and bit by bit you begin to learn you couldn't ever be wrong, however there is a possibility you may have been mistaken.

Not that has ever happened to me...

Agreed!!!

Any flag Daniel Boone would have waived (if he ever did) would not be acceptable in todays environment...

My golden retriever avy is patriotic. Just pretend there's a flag, golden eagle, front facing enemy, and orange buffoon in the background.

Didn't some college in Colorado ban "America" and "American"?

Colorado State. "America" and American" were two words listed in "language to avoid."
It's simply an attack on free speech.

No matter how large or small, a Betsy Ross flag is not patriotic.

Why is that? I don't have any personal experience with the negative connotation it seems to have today. When was it coopted?
