Let's play devil's advocate and pretend that only 3.3 million Canadians (ten percent) are going to the doctor or the hospital instead.
What is sixty-three thousand out of 3.3 million.

Looks like about 1.9% to me. That is STILL an extremely low figure!
Less than TWO percent of sick or injured Canadians are going abroad?
Flat out amazing. Canada has every right to be PROUD of figures that low.

We Americans should be jealous.

Whenever I do math here, I double-check and more! What device doesn’t have a calculator app?

I also use dictionary and grammar guides when not 100% certain, atlas’ and whatever keeps a post from biting me. Doesn’t always work....

You were off by a factor of 1,000, no, that's not close. And yes, I adjusted my numbers from 0.0018% to 0.0017%. If you think I'm stupid for that mistake I can't imagine what you think of yourself.

My dentist just got back from a vacation in Canada. I quizzed him on what the locals are thinking. He gives me the impression that you lot are not all that happy. Mentions leadership and taxes. I don’t want to hi-jack the thread, but would like to hear.

Yeeesh, recon of breast should ALWAYS be covered in breast cancer cases.

Yes, I'm hearing "noises off" about some people being pissed about Trudeau but that's not the healthcare, or is it?

From what I see, a lot of Canadian ladies have very nice boobs but don't tell my wife I said that.
Hers are great but I still have a wandering eye because: Men are pigs LOL.

Canadians are rarely happy with the leadership. Most governments are elected with less than 50% of the vote, on the federal level it is generally about 40% (the remaining 60% split among 2-3 other major parties mostly.

Taxes are always too high for people, even when they are quite low. Alberta in general has the lowest taxes (oil and gas helps a lot). Local taxes in Alberta (Calgary) for a home worth approx $360 000 USD (I converted it) would be around $2250 USD. Alberta schools at least 10 years ago placed in the top 10 for international testing scores. But we still complain about taxes.

I expect your dentist went to either Toronto, Vancouver/Victoria or Alberta (Calgary Banff). In Alberta we have a strong dislike for the federal government (the Trudeau name is mud here from the time his father was in office) Ontario has a nut job as Premier, BC is doing well overall but with very high housing prices that are on a decline to some policy changes regarding buying homes as an investment

Well...technically, it’s 0.17% (63,000/37 million = 0.0017, which is 0.17%)...but your point still stands.

Only the courageous "thumbs down" Senate vote by the late John McCain prevented this catastrophe.

I believe so. Ontario I believe covers dental, while Alberta does not (usually part of benefits from work here)

I just wish it was easier for aging retirees to get there. We won't drive up the prices, and Karen and I have VA health coverage so we wouldn't even cost you guys a dime.
