It's a mixed marriage of a certain kind. He was a Trump supporter all along and she *detested the man. But these days, they agree on one big thing: The president will be *re-elected. Easily. "Easily?" I asked, making sure I heard them correctly. Yes, they insisted, with her nodding as he said Democrats had gone bonkers and voters would respond by giving Trump four more years. The recent Manhattan conversation would be insignificant except that it dovetails with national trends, namely a growing belief that Dems are not coming back to this world anytime soon.

Free health care for illegal immigrants, open borders, attacks on ICE, flouting immigration law. All supported by all the Democratic candidates and all losers in a general election. Of course, they will try to deny they ever had these opinions when it comes to the general election (some of their supporters try to deny it now!) but the internet is forever, and you can't block the signal.

if AOC gets her way, it's bye-bye FEMA, airport security, the Coast Guard, border control, the Secret Service and nearly a score of other agencies. This isn't something most Democrats support, but it's hard to make that plain when AOC is sucking up all the oxygen.

If there is any need for proof that Democrats have totally turned their backs on poor Americans it can be found in their attitudes toward illegal immigration, which is killing poor citizens.

The story is that Pelosi and AOC are fighting, it isn't that Pelosi has a moderate agenda to counter AOC. Indeed, Pelosi can't tout a moderate agenda for fear of losing the crazy left wing base.

I think the left believe, in all their arrogance, they are universally loved and therefore they are entitled to the White House. Although I don't think free healthcare for illegals, and screw our own (poor) people, is much of a winning formula.

I'm not sure exactly which federal agencies are now under Homeland Security but there are quite a few and AOC wants to get rid of them all.

Although some activists have urged the government to abolish its immigration enforcement arm, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) came out in favor of eradicating the entire Department of Homeland Security.

You forgot the most important point; Gun control.

At the Debate they all appeared to support lunical ideas.

Do you know what happens to a city that disarms?

Both their leaders and foreign occupation may have their way with them.

Think of Trump without guns?

Sure I'd buy back guns, go steal them from gangs and you'll be some kind of outlaw.

Think of the guy in deluded piety sells back his guns and next thing he knows he's got his wife in Un's bedroom.

I'm all for regulating the militia and here's my plan.

Guns

I would regulate the militia by requiring mental health based certification class in high school on your drivers license and buy, and five level no buy lists that feds and courts can put the informed on or off. Any firearm out of its case without a permit is a confiscate-able offense. Children should be trained to report any threatening comment about a firearm and people can get put on the list and not be able to buy any more guns or ammunition.

I'm not convinced that they'll lose the upcoming election, but even if they do, they're playing to win in the long run.

By adopting more and more extreme positions, they not only move the Democratic Party further to the left, but by pushing moderate liberals into the right (think of people like Dave Rubin), they dilute the conservatism of the Republic Party. The end result is that the whole political spectrum has shifted to the left. And given demographic trends, they know that they'll eventually win elections regardless.

If he gets re-elected, it will be because the Democrats failed to unify around their candidate like they did in 2016. The 2020 election is the Democrats to lose, and if the Democrat base doesn't come out and vote (as they failed to do in 2016), then yes four more (disastrous) years of President Trump.

From her tweet it doesn't seem to me that she wants to get rid of every agency that makes up DHS, just the bureaucracy.

Not universally loved. But Trump is universally hated enough for the left to rally around whichever candidate gets the Democratic nomination, just like what happened with Republicans in 2016. Republicans went whole hog for Trump once it became clear that he was going to win the nomination, while Democrats were unenthusiastic about Hillary throughout the election. This allowed the right to squeak into office by the skin of their teeth. The question is: What will Democrats rallying around their own candidate in 2020 look like? No matter how hated the Democratic candidate might be, Trump is a new variable in the equation, and the "anyone but Trump" vote will be devastating for Republicans.

When Republicans gave it everything they had in 2016 and Democrats abstained or voted third party in record numbers, the Democratic candidate still took the popular vote. How much more will the "anyone but Trump" vote thrust Democrats into the distant lead in 2020?

I suspect DJT is more liked than leftists may realize. In fact, I'll wager he is. No one ever won an election based on hate, which is all the left has at this point.

Donald Trump did. The reason Hillary lost wasn't because too many people loved Trump. Trump has consistently maintained one of the lowest approval ratings of any president. It's not hyperbole to suggest he may turn out to be the most hated President in history. Trump won in 2016 because too many people hated Hillary. And after a presidency filled with endless controversy, diplomatic flubs, and political ineptitude, the Trump hate is far greater than the Hillary the hate ever was. If there is a question mark in the 2020 elections, it's how much hatred will the democratic nominee generate? Unless they are a total racist and run a campaign on fascism, I doubt it will be enough to spare Trump from a crushing defeat.

I find it rather amusing that when Trump wants ICE to round up undocumented immigrants who have gone through the court system and received a deportation order and deport them that the left scream bloody murder and give these people advice on how to avoid ICE while trying to claim that they are not for open borders. It doesn't get any more open borders than that.

Trump and his Russian buddies were trying real hard just a while ago to make us think we need him to secure the boarder, but he screwed up when he abandoned all of Obama's work in South America that had the problem diminishing and now it looks like our Angel Democrats have gone and polarized exasperating the situation.

No, it's not. DHS created to be an agency that contained 22 other agencies. Abolishing DHS would return to those 22 agencies not being under DHS, not abolish all of them. If she wanted to abolish any of the 22, like ICE, she can say that. She was accused of wanting to abolish ALL 22, which she does not.
