The rights moral compass has been in rewriting the values of the bible and our constitution. In both cases distorting to the point that it is not recognizable. Twisted to allow their hatred, bigotry, homophobia, chavenism, Islamophobia and hatred of our government To be acceptable and a respected direction when it's not.. They operate on the politics of fear.

The right Favor's the wealthy, seek to subjugate, seek to divide, seek to exploit, seek to disenfranchise, encourage conformity, fear diversity, appose science and art, promote aggression, promote fear, promote ignorance, indulge in deception, believe humans are sinful. This is in no way the direction that this country should be going in. I'm litterally apposed to every aspect of the values of the right. They offer nothing for our country that is worth retaining at the price that those changes cost the people and this country.

Don’t hold back, tell us how you really feel

On and on and on and on. Everything is the right’s fault. I think the left has RDS.

What gets me is that they don't even have economics on their side. The American economy hasn't blazed for the middle class since it did in the aftermath of the New Deal, and the last President to balance the budget was Clinton.

Strange as it seems, I used to be a Republican.

But I just can't hang with the likes of Trump, McConnell, Cotton, Hatch, Ryan, Sessions, Meadows, Jordan, etc. etc. etc.

Two criminal parties robbing us blind, and all you people do is squabble like angry children.

:hm

How long ago was that? Hatch was elected in 1976

While it is true that Clinton had a brief period of balanced federal "budgets" the national debt continued to grow during his terms in office.

I just want to see a bit of the New Deal restored. Who knows, maybe the middle class will get to do a little more blazing.
Maybe we need a new Will Rogers to lay it out there for everyone in simple folksy terms.

I see your clan meeting went well last night. Only thing missing is the heil Hitler emoji.

Indeed. Still doesn't change the fact that Republicans like to talk a game they never play - their talk about conservative finances and complaining about the debt never seems to square with them spending more while taxing less.

I want to see the New Deal revamped for modern issues & expanded. Bernie's got a good start with his economic bill of rights, but that's just a start. Just off the top of my head, we could very easily cut some of our "replacing democracies with puppet states" budget and put that into infrastructure; we've got the right recipe with the Tennessee Valley Authority, we just need to put something similar in the rust belt & expand the purview a bit. Some price controls and more regulatory oversight on prescription drugs is self-evidently necessary, too, especially opioids.

Not strange at all. I’ve never joined a party, but for many years my views more closely aligned with those of traditional Republicans. We haven’t had any of those for a while though. More and more, Americans are choosing to be Independents.

But I just can't hang with the likes of Trump, McConnell, Cotton, Hatch, Ryan, Sessions, Meadows, Jordan, etc. etc. etc.
The good news for Republicans is that Trump isn’t now, and never really has been, one of them. The bad news is they are currently bitches to Trump and his basket of deplorables.

That's literally called, freedom of expression.

You can't force someone to like something.

Good thinking, What bothers me about them is the hate you have to buy into to be part of their club, and how cruel and ugly this group is.

I... don't understand what you're asking of me. That was when Reagan ruined everything with trickle down economics, was it not? I certainly meant that was what screwed things up.

I was saying blazed as a positive word, my guy. Like, imagine how it would be used in a cheesy, 80's action movie line about courage blazing in your heart or something. That kind of "blazed in the aftermath of the New Deal."

What does this even mean, freedom of expression. So was Hitlers last 100 speeches. I don't want to force anyone to like anything , but I'll dump **** all over them if they sell out my country, it's flag and people as the right has done. They sold us out for hate and to stay in power.

No one's saying you can't be an asshole, the problem is legislating asshole behavior that harms people for no good reason. For example, Trump recently repealed an Obama-era regulation that said homeless shelters can't turn someone away just because they're transgender. Say what you will about traans folks, they're every bit as deserving of shelter in times of need as any American is.

Except on campus. There, saying what you believe is prohibited. Someone might take offense.

California is destroying art. Is book burning next? Oh, wait, that was in the Star Wars movie wasn't it?

He wasn't talking about the freedom of expression.

That is what it is, If anything makes me tired and ornery is when the right waves the flag of capitalism while they destroyed the prime reason why capitalism is the way, the promise of the potential to get ahead. It's all gone into the pockets of the people that were designated to get it all under all right wing economical direction. This is why they exist. The total transfer of wealth to the few at the top.

I like bananas, but I can't grow bananas in my yard. I can however, buy them at my supermarket. Where'd those come from anyway? Oh right, a 'banana-republic' like Honduras and the Dominican Republic. Wait, does that mean that I pay for food like bananas that were harvested by children or men that are being mistreated and oppressed by their government? But I have a damned right to eat a banana if I want to. Those children in the Dominican Republic might be slaves from Haiti, but that's okay with me, as long as I can have my bananas and sleep at night. The men in Honduras that are paid workers picking bananas make a whopping $14 for working 12 hours a day in the sun picking bananas. But Chiquita charges you enough money to cover the cost easily for a field of workers. Three hundred and fifty lempiras, or $14, is the most they make – a paltry amount considering the cost of living in Honduras. Monthly rents can reach $125 and a basic food basket, which includes rice, beans, sugar, butter, and coffee, can cost up to $700 for a family of six.

As long as I can slice up a banana to put on my cereal, I'm fine with all of that. I don't know if I have a point that correlates with your meme other than I believe that to be able to go to the store and buy a bunch of bananas is my right, no matter who labored for it, as long as I just don't think about it.

Same. I bought into their bull**** for entirely too long, but the research I've been doing the last year or so has helped break me completely away from right-wing talking points.
