I would really like to know. Are these rights enumerated in our Constitution? Can I decide that as a human being with basic human rights, that I can "reside" anywhere in the world with no regard to any laws, borders or sovereignty? That living in a secured building in a swanky neighborhood in D.C. is my basic human right, just like AOC?

When AOC says we shouldn't arrest migrants who cross illegally because it violates them pursuing their basic human rights, what exactly does that mean?

I don't hear anyone explaining what these magical "basic human rights" are and I also don't see anyone pushing back on this pet phrase of AOC's when she employs it.

So what doe it mean and is it real?

It means she is for open borders and does not give a whit about the US citizens that she represents in New York.
It's all about the crazy Green deal and now she is calling Nancy Pelosi a racist? What the heck is wrong with her?

I'm thinking one "basic human right" ALOC is talking about would be all illegals sucking on the American tax payer teet for all it is worth, might be one?

Just a guess.

I love how people keep parroting about them wanting open borders. I have never heard of any Democrat wanting open borders or walls removed.

It's a rural white talking point. Also ... all socialism is Soviet Communism.

Lying is all the right does. They have no facts, they have no logic, they are on the side of evil, basically they are straight up assholes and the comments we see on this forum confirm that every day.

Of course, as soon as them or their love ones are mistreated, injustices happen to them, they will whine and whine and whine. They have no empathy, no compassion, no integrity, no intelligence. Truly deplorables.

Obama's DHS Sect'y Jeh Johnson has said that Democrats are for all intents and purposes, open borders now.

But I still haven't seen proof of these universal, basic human rights.

And no, the 14th amendment isn't it.

Why couldn't we ship them a few thousand nutjob leftists from here so that way leftists could fashion their country into a socialist paradise? Maybe Soros could chip in a couple billion? Steyer could run for president of some Central American country and show us how it's done. ALOC can yap down there about "basic human rights."

Well if you cannot accept the answer, it isn't our problem. You asked, you got the answer.

That's code for "open borders".

Far from it. The studies I've seen show that they make the USA a safer place, and pay more than they take.

And they probably make the USA a smarter county as well, although admittedly I can only base that on the Americans I've interacted with.

It means that, in Utopia, every human being has the right to enjoy a pleasant and easy life. It should not depend on luck, or skill, or hard work. Everyone in Utopia deserves, and gets, all the necessities of a good life.

What, there is no such place as Utopia you say? Of course there is, inside every leftist's mind.

They want to take care of all the refugees.

All of them, every single one is exactly as you described. Not only the "right," but everyone who does not have exactly the same beliefs as you, on every issue. They are all evil and deplorable. Not you. You are good and compassionate and intelligent, to an unlimited degree. There is nothing you don't know, and nothing you can't understand, and no problem you can't solve.

Congratulations on getting it all figured out.

What does the 14th Amendment have to do with immigration?

Nothing. It's about the US government not being allowed to kill or steal from its citizens.

If they are working illegally they aren't paying. And if they can't speak English they are not making the USA smarter.

What does the 14th Amendment have to do with immigration?
Nothing:

The United States Constitution. The 14th Amendment ensured that all citizens of all states had not only rights on the federal level, but on the state level, too. It removed the three-fifths counting of slaves in the census. It ensured that the United States would not pay the debts of rebellious states.

Operative word - citizens.
