Rapinoe volunteered to represent her country and refused to fulfill that duty. Demonstrating how shallow her convictions really were, she stood anyway when forced to, like a spoiled brat who didn't want to go to detention.

Hinkle was faced with a Hobson's choice, which she never should have been forced to make in the first place: hold fast to her sincerely-held religious beliefs, or give in to the new political orthodoxy. She chose to uphold her conscience.

Just give it up, dude. You're cheering for the side that surrendered the moral high ground by making women's soccer all about them. :surrender

Hinkle stayed at home because she could not make the cut

"Skipping" an event connotates a frivolous or temporary choice such as "skipping three classes". Hence her withdrawal (resignation) from the team itself would not be dismissed as "skipping" in common usage, and your characterization of her resignation was just for the sole purpose of an intentionally snarky and brainless backhand insult.

She intentional chose not to play soccer because of her beliefs. Rapinoe put her beliefs aside and chose to play. Hinkle does not get to decide things for the team. She was selfish and only cared about herself. The others put team first and won. I hope hinkle never plays another game. She dies not belong with these champions.

The Daily Wire presents news with a right wing bias in reporting and wording. For example headlines are usually sensational and utilize strong emotional language such as this: Democrats Boo God. Then They Quote The Bible To Attack Trump.

Virtually every story favors the right and denigrates the left. The Daily Wire has also published some false information such as these and this directly from Ben Shapiro. Further, a factual search reveals that the Daily Wire, on a whole, has a mixed track record with fact checkers.

Overall, we rate The Daily Wire as a far right biased news source based on story selection that always favors the right and that is Mixed for factual reporting due to a few failed fact checks. (9/2/2016) Updated (D. Van Zandt 6/16/2018)


In short, The Daily Wire is pure crap.

Your bigotry is shining through. If the team had chosen to wear a bible verse about gays and Rapinoe sat out, you would cheer, and cry foul if she were cut afterwords.


And no, they didn’t put team first, or they would have avoided a divisive pro gay political stunt, and respected other views, and stuck with the just playing the game and representing all Americans and not just half of America.

But that didn't happen. She knelt and they changed the rule to make her stand. So she stood. She put the team first. She sucked it up.like a pro and took the field.

Hinkle skipped 3 games. She is a cry baby loser who did not make the cut

You're discussing a different topic. I was speaking of people who lived and died before Christ. I don't know what happens to them. Nobody does. As for what you're discussing, God only has one requirement and that is belief. If people reject what is offered to them, then they've made their choice. Scripture says that many are called and few chosen. Not everyone is ushered into heaven.

Having a sincere belief means trying to live as Christ would have us live. Simply speaking words and having a true conviction in your heart are two separate things. Being forgiven in Christ does not mean you can simply keep doing the same things you asked forgiveness for over and over again.

Except that isn't how it actually went down. Lets put this in the proper perspective....

She was offered the opportunity to play with the team. She had done so on a couple of prior occasions. She made the decision not to play with the team for the games in which they were going to wear the pride jerseys. That was her call....she was not told not to come or uninvited. Unfortunately for her, those games were at a pretty pivotal time in the team selection process, and because of her choice to make her stand (totally her right, for the record), she found herself on the outside looking in. Choices have consequences sometimes, and the consequences of deciding not to suck it up like a pro and play in the uniform meant she was left off the team for chemistry reasons.

Seems to have been the right call, as they are now World Cup Champs.

This is where religion and faith start getting into a gray area.

Depending on your flavor of Christianity, your above statement would be completely false. I was raised Catholic. I was taught that there was nothing that you could do that confession and absolution couldn't take care of. That meant that you could weekly go out and cheat on your wife, go to confession and admit to doing it, and that all would be wiped away for the week again.

Now, in order to argue that you were correct, you would have to put yourself in the position of telling an entire religion that they are wrong. You really wanna open that Pandoras box?
