The DOj said it was dropping the matter when it came to the census question concerning citizenship. Then Trump tweets that that is "fake news" even though the DOj put that in writing to the judge. The DOJ saw what happened to Sessions when he did not obey every order given by Trump and now have until Friday to bring the judge the answer whether the census forms are being printed or not with the question that has been so far outlawed by the courts. The real question is whether Trump will disregard the courts and put the question in the census questionnaire concerning citizenship? Remember trump does not believe that neither the courts or the legislature can stop him from doing as he wants. So if forces the issue and disregards the courts, what should be done?

The same thing that happened when Obama ignored the courts.

Probably very little.

Trump needs to be removed from office tonight.

If Trump defies the Court - the census results will be illegitimate - just like Trump himself.

Nothing.

The Republicans in Congress are spineless, and the Democrats are as well. All any of them care about is staying in office, and allowing Trump to run roughshod over everything is how they feel they can accomplish that.

**** everything else.

The Constitution was toilet paper prior to Trump, now it's not even worthy to line bird cages.

That all depends.

They could be cited for contempt, but nothing can really be done because Trump and Barr are in charge of the DOJ, which means their own office would have to arrest them, and that's obviously not going to happen.

The House would have the option of impeaching Trump and Barr, so that upon their removal, they could be prosecuted. Still, that would likely fail because of the make-up of a complicit Senate. However, should Trump lose reelection in 2020 and his whole gang lose the clout of being in the administration, they would be open to arrest at that point.

ignore him.

What ever happened to Obama when he ignored federal laws and court rulings?

The same thing that happened when Obama ignored the courts.

Deflection, deflection, deflection. Is that all you have. And Obama did not ignore a court order. The court decided that Obama did not provide enough info and afterwards Obama obeyed the court. This would go right to the heart of the issue, can Trump disobey a court order by putting the question on the census, and if he does, what should happen.

ignore him.

And his subordinates most likely will. As president he is shielded from criminal proceedings (and well might he need it), but his subordinates are not. When it's a risk to them to follow his orders they simply won't. They'll tell him they did as they were told and will quietly ignore orders and because he has no interest in the job of leading a country, or the attention span to do it, he won't follow up.

Can you cite these rulings he ignored?

No its not a real question. Trump has given no indication that he intends to defy a court order. You have invented that question from your imagination. Trump is follow the legal protocol the court gave him.

Rogue pr*sident trump has zero in common with Presidents Reagan and Eisenhower, and everything in common with dictators Vlad, Xi, Kim, MBS, etc

Nor will he spend a day in jail. I just don't see someone as rich and powerful as him suffering any more than fines for whatever financial misdeeds are uncovered. For his political crimes (real or imagined) it will require his successors, presumably of the opposing party, to go after him once he's out of office. The Dems are wussies and will go on all about 'healing' and 'forgiving' and 'moving' on; or a little more honestly, not wanting to create a 'precedent'. All they're really worried about is image and won't want to be seen kicking him while he's down.

my guess is that he'll get away with whatever. however, i'd still like to see him get defeated in 2020.

Everyone except the trumplings should just refuse to answer the question or everyone says yes to the question. People seem to forget that the census is anonymous.

Then nobody has to fill out the Census form and nobody has to pay attention to the results. Thats what happens. People stop paying their Income taxes....thats what happens. Anarchy is what happens. Anybody that thinks Trump is not the ally of Vladimir Putin in Putin's efforts to destroy country gets laughed off the planet as a complete idiot. That is what happens.

The DOJ was basically groveling in Court today. The basic point they were trying to make was "Iksnay on the trumptweeterfeed-a". Translation: Your honor there is an active effort to simply remove the smartphone from the President's hand and we would beg that you simply ignore him for now. We are trying to do the same.

Seriously, the DOJ said Commerce WAS continuing to print the Census form without the question and there was no effort afoot to ignore the SC decision.

He is clearly an unhinged man who has no concept of what makes America so great.

I pointed out months ago that there's a slight possibility that Don might claim his loss in 2020 on voter fraud or some other excuse, in an attempt to remain in power. And todays threat, makes that possibility, however slight, much more possible...

It bears repeating that the WH itself now months and months ago stated for the record that Trump tweets were to be considered "official statements from the President".

The Judge went on to say that if he read a tweet from Mark Zuckerberg that was essentially the same as what the President just tweeted, the Judge would demand that Mark Zuckerberg appear in court with the attorneys as in his view the attorneys in question no longer represented their client.

The DOJ then asked if they could have till Monday to respond given the holiday and the Judge said "NO. 2:00PM Friday."

Trump has been losing track of the script for weeks and he is now utterly beyond any pale of sanity and responsible conduct of his office.

Trump has to learn that being the president of the US does not mean that he is the dictator of the US. Most Americans are sick of his crap, more will follow, however the simpering morons and malcontents would support him no matter what crimes he would ever pull, because they are mentally defective.

There must be many reasons why the cult sees no problem with a lying Putin suckup, but I believe there're plenty of smart conservatives who're cult members. I think their blind loyalty is based more on consciously denying their humanity in exchange for political gain. That and of course racism...
