Masked Antifa will equate and attack anyone who voted for Trump, for any reason, as a "Nazi." Be they Black, Latino, elderly, women, or ANYONE wearing a MAGA hat. After Portland violence last weekend one would think major media would take opportunity to do some soul-searching reporting. Instead they glorify Antifa as fighters of the "far right."

This polarization of society is not taking place in a vacuum. It is being encouraged by prominent Democrats like Hillary Clinton, who said: ""You cannot be civil with a political party that wants to destroy what you stand for, what you care about." This is a dog whistle to low IQ Antifa types who see it as a green light to violence.

New York Times: What Is Antifa? Explaining the Movement to Confront the Far Right
...
Although the Merriam-Webster dictionary says the word “antifa” was first used in 1946 and was borrowed from a German phrase signaling an opposition to Nazism, more people began joining the antifa movement in the United States after the 2016 election of President Trump, to counter the threat they believed was posed by the so-called alt-right, Mr. Bray said.
The word and movement gained more visibility in 2017 after a series of events that put a spotlight on anti-fascist protesters, including the punching of a prominent alt-right member; the cancellation of an event by a right-wing writer at the University of California, Berkeley; and the protests in Charlottesville that turned violent.

....
Why are they controversial?
The group is known for causing damage to property during protests. In Berkeley, black-clad protesters wearing masks threw Molotov cocktails and smashed windows at the student union center where the Yiannopoulos event was to be held.
Crow, who was involved with Antifa for almost 30 years, said members use violence as a means of self-defense and they believe property destruction does not equate to violence.
"There is a place for violence. Is that the world that we want to live in? No. Is it the world we want to inhabit? No. Is it the world we want to create? No. But will we push back? Yes," Crow said.
