How many socialist leave the US every year, and go to a socialist country to escape capitalism. With all the talk from the left there must be millions.

Does anyone know the actual number?

Oh my god does this guy think Canada doesn't have capitalism or something

I think most of Europe, that we consider "socialist", is actually capitalist without a military budget, so they spend it on social programs.

From what everyone was saying before the 2016 election, there must have been a mass exodus in Dec of that year.

All you are doing is defending the system that is ripping off most americans. The GOP has convinced it's base among other things that the bad dems want to turn america into a socialist country. Folks like you are fighting against things being more fair for the average person and the right rails against that idea for some inconceivable reason. You can have better cheaper insurance, cheaper drug prices, more secure jobs by being in a union but no, the right defends the so called 'job creators' like they are some kind of a god. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

When my colleagues from a previous job on the South American offshore team were getting $4 to $7 per hour, no, I don't consider myself "ripped off" getting TEN times as much here in the USA.

If you want Stupid, Stupid, Stupid, talk about people who can't navigate the gig economy.

Gig Economy Definition

In a gig economy, temporary, flexible jobs are commonplace and companies tend toward hiring independent contractors and freelancers instead of full-time employees. A gig economy undermines the traditional economy of full-time workers who rarely change positions and instead focus on a lifetime career.

Your argument about "fairness" is simply calling compelled wealth redistribution "only fair."

It's like an example of four kids hanging out together, and one of them had personally bought a pack of M&M Peanuts which contained 12 candies. That kid decides to give each friend two, and tries to eat the remaining six. One friend says "That's not FAIR! You have enough so all of us including YOU can have at least THREE!" As if the simple fact he had more and COULD have shared more is sufficient proof giving ANY, much less a "fair share" was inherently deserved in some way.

These days it seems what was once voluntary kindness has turned into a push toward a "moral obligation" demanded in the name of "fairness."

Charity (which is what most social welfare programs are, regardless of how you frame them) should be voluntary. Moreover IMO people should be aware that NO ONE owes them anything, at least not unless there is a debt to repay which was freely entered into, or a duty to recompense for a harm directly or indirectly caused. THAT is what's "fair."

Golly I think I hit a nerve. My job is done here today---------making a left winger think.

Why would any socialist leave the US, since we have so much of socialism here?

Wealth distribution has been happening for as long as the united states has been around. Push the money from the bottom to the top. I see some still support that idea.
