The first Democratic debate of the 2020 election throws Biden's campaign into turmoil - CNNPolitics

Reeling from an attack by a much younger rival, Kamala Harris, the 76-year-old delivered an unfortunate soundbite at the Democratic debate that threatens to symbolize his biggest political liability.

"My time is up," he said, meaning to cut short one of his own answers but instead drawing attention to a question that haunts his campaign: Has his generation's time come and gone?

Good on Harris for wresting control from the old dude. Hopefully the younger generation learns from it.


It is time to take control of your country, young folks.

The old people's time is indeed up. But, they aren't going to all go away as easily as old man Joe.

So I saw another "old white guy" on one of the networks trying to get me to buy remembering that Biden had a very good debate with Chaney......Somebody should remind "old white guy" of how long ago that was.

Take it from another old white guy....me.....we have a hard time dealing with not being young white guys any longer.

That Biden is portrayed by the media as being the front runner is a sure sign of just how rotten our political system is. As another old white guy, I too am happy to see a few young leaders stepping up. Will the system reject them?

It is interesting and encouraging to see the young Latina public defender, Cabana, win the election for district attorney in Queens. Maybe a sign of the times, upsetting the entrenched regulars within the democratic power structure.

We have to be very careful here.Biden's time is probably up, but not because of the generation he comes from, but because Biden himself stopped growing and changing. Ageism is as insidious and pervasive in our culture as sexism or racism. Its not his age that is the problem. Its the age of his ideas that is the problem.

We can't get enough seasoned veterans to man our facilities. Now, old guys who fell behind like Joe...probably true. No one needs or wants them.

But, find me a guy, aged plus-50, with computer skills and over 30 years of experience in the business, and I will hire him today.
