Well, it depends on the answer to the question. If you, also, have had relatives die in Nazi concentration camps, then I'd take your opinion differently then if you didn't. Me, personally, not having had relatives die in Nazi concentration camps, would probably skip the shaming of someone who has, and proceed directly to STFU land. But that's just me.

Gonna answer? Or is your lack of an answer actually the answer?

That's funny. I read your link and it mentions nothing about them paying for all expenses of the trip. A tour isn't expenses. But I'm sure you can post something to prove me wrong, and show me where they offered airfare, housing, transportation, and all expenses while she is there. Because a tour of the facilities isn't that. You apparently have never traveled anywhere.

Okay, so let's see something from them that says they will pay all her expenses. That would be good. A waste of money though, considering she isn't and hasn't spoken about the Holocaust. But if they have money to burn to invite dozens of people for a free trip to Europe, hey, all power to them.

I'll go if she doesn't want to and they're paying. I've mentioned the Holocaust more times in this thread than AOC ever has in her entire public life - in fact, I believe she's mentioned it zero times.

Maybe they can fly your Congressional rep over too. Hell, fly all of them over if they are giving out free trips to politicians.

I have discussed FDR's concentration camps for decades. I know quite a bit about them as I studied them in the past (especially Manzanar here in California) and have used them as examples of Democrat hypocrisy many, many times.

I was stating that to Americans (and Western Europe) the term "Concentration Camp" conjures visions of the Camps run by the Germans. Especially when the same people using the term speak of fascist and Nazis.

What is incorrect about my statement?

I don't know who has intentional ignorance.

The average American can't even identify the Vice President of the United States from his picture, and can't add without a calculator. The educated Americans know about the concentration camps in this country that are now housing the refugees and immigrants getting captured at the border. We don't go "OMG Hitler!", because we're smarter than the average American. We also don't make things up that people never said.

No I have not, but that is irrelevant. I don't believe that people who appeal to emotion, and use their personal history, get a pass on criticism. In particular, if a poster (or Congressional Witness) is going to claim a knowledge or claim of moral authority from their own personal history, then others have a ethical right to criticize his moral authority. He chose to use it publicly. If you dishonor the memory of the victims of the holocaust, I don't care what your family history is.

However, I am sorry that I replied in a harsh and personal manner. I should have been more cerebral in conveying the same thought: an invalid comparison dishonors the memory of his murdered relations, whether he knows it or not. And he, who has lost relations, ought to be more aware of that than most.

Yet she definitely linked the concentration camps and anti-holocaust motto to the internment camps - an inference so strong it can't be missed. And, she assures us, she didn't do it lightly.
