Nearly 100 internal Trump transition vetting documents leaked to "Axios on HBO" identify a host of "red flags" about officials who went on to get some of the most powerful jobs in the U.S. government. Why it matters: The massive trove, and the story behind it, sheds light on the slap-dash way President Trump filled his cabinet and administration, and foreshadowed future scandals that beset his government.

Axios obtained the Trump RNC vetting documents for people whom the campaign identified as possible administration appointees. People like Ben Carson, Dan Coats, Betsy DeVos, Gary Cohn, Don McGahn, Elaine Chao, John Kelly, James Mattis, John Bolton, Mick Mulvaney, Nikki Haley, Rex Tillerson, Rick Perry, Robert Lighthizer, Ryan Zinke, Scott Pruitt, and many others. Although the Chris Christie transition team had provided Trump and his inner circle with 4 volumes of assessments of individuals, the Trump Team fired Christie (as a DA Christie had jailed Jared Kushner's father) and instead used vetting documents compiled by the Republican National Convention. It becomes obvious that Trump and his close advisors hired people that even the RNC red-flagged for various reasons.

His supporters will no doubt scream in impotent rage about how leaks are illegal and the leakers must be prosecuted.

That might happen. I don't care, because at least we know more about the shenanigans of his administration.
 
None of this is surprising - after all - it is Trump.
 
More desperation from the left. They are in a real frenzied lather now and I expect it'll only get comically worse as the months tick by toward their 2020 defeat.

Trump didn't use the assessments of HIS team, Chis Christie et. al.

Instead he used assessments provided by the RNC.

Despite RNC warnings, Trump still appointed/hired numerous RNC red-flagged individuals to important WH/Cabinet positions.

Despite red-flags, Trump still appointed dozens of folks like him ... Pruitt, Zinke, etc. Sleazy individuals with deep lobbyist/corporate ties or known flaws and skeletons.

People that would always take care of themselves and their vested interests above all else. Wonderful additions to the Swamp.

Mueller limited the scope of his investigation. Congress, the SDNY, and others will not. Lady Justice may be slow , but she’s not stupid.

As they should be. This administration is a joke. Skip the vetting and what you get is indictments, prison sentences, a president who has not been exonerated, a disaster on the border, serious problems with Iran. And you think this is comical.

No, I think the left is comical and sad. All the crap they've heaped on Trump 24/7 for 2 1/2 years and he's still punching them around. I can understand their impotent rage.
