Next month it will be 50 years

Another Troll bait thread.

Frankly I don't know why people make serious responses to Troll bait. Let them just die. No posts...no life, unless you want to call a bunch of like minded retards circle jerking each other life.

Yet, here you are responding...

Next month it will be 50 years since men walked on the moon. Right now 50 years later, thanks to Obama we cant even put a man in low earth orbit.

Any democrat want to explain why.

This is a legitimate topic but you kind of derailed your own thread by trying to blame this on Obama

I have no idea what this whole thread is about, it's just nonsensical. I'll move to one that makes some sense.

Easy, Obama is not responsible for what you claim he is. That would be Congress, and over a very long time including many years outside of Obama being President.

Your “breakfast and coffee” group needs new material, and better information to draw from.

... and maybe a few additional brain cells to process with. We're talking about facts, after all. Those can be difficult.

I know, the mission took off on my birthday.

But...why *cant* we today? Did we lose the technology? The knowledge?

I have to say it every day, but "another illogical thread by user 'Logical'1"

I feel so sad that someone makes you participate in the thread...

I feel sad that someone using a username with the word "logical" in it doesn't seem to even have the ability to use logic.

At least your name is as silly as your posts, so it's obvious.

To hear your team tell it, it's ALL Trump's fault...

Trump gets neither blame nor credit where NASA's programs are concerned. He doesn't really have much of a plan for that, which is no big deal, since the less he does, the better off NASA will be. He just wants to have a Space Force ... Cadet Bone Spurs wants to be Space Cadet Bone Spurs.

The space shuttle program was formally scheduled for obligatory retirement in 2010 in accordance with several directives which President George W. Bush issued on January 14, 2004 in his, "Vision for Space Exploration". That was extended by about a year to July of 2011. It was Mr. Bush and not Mr. Obama who ended regular manned space flights by America in its own spacecraft.

Thus this whole thread is based on a misrepresentation of the history of American space flight and no explanation is due to the OP.

Cheers.
Evilroddy.

What we lost was the political will. We could have had bases on the moon by now (there's ice under the surface of the moon's poles, so oxygen is readily available), one at least on the far side with arrays of telescopes and radioscopes, and one on the near side, where scientists could have been performing any number of low gravity experiments and tests. The value to technological achievement and advancement we, as a nation, could be enjoying is boundless. Such a shame.

Ignorance? False information? Bias? Who knows... it isn't good but that does not make it a lie.

No, the actual FACTS that the OP could have easily looked up but didn't is what makes it a lie.

Barack Obama: Nasa must try to make Muslims 'feel good'
No wonder we are so far behind in space travel

There are giant intelligent space herpes out there who want to eat our solar system. We must defend ourselves against them. Every citizen of the planet must immediately enlist for the war effort. No one is exempt.

Did that come from the Big Bang theory?

Is there some reason to build a capacity you don't need? Is there some reason to put a person on the moon? Do you know what a Saturn V rocket is like? Do you realize they were built and used, not stored? Do you realize tRump is an idiot?

I mean, this isn't entirely accurate, although your first main point definitely is. We didn't need to do it to beat the Russians anymore, so it lost priority. Nothing in America gets done quickly unless it's about war.

That said, especially back in the 70s and 80s, there would have been virtually no way for us to handle building any kind of permanent residence on the moon. Remember that the moon doesn't have an atmosphere, so there is constantly radiation and micrometeorites and stuff that would damage anything we trying to setup for long periods of time. By the mid to late 90s, when we were doing the space station, we definitely had the technology to handle some of that. The fact that we basically stopped our ambition at the space station was really the downfall in my mind. The space station could be so much more than it is.

send in the clowns

So, it's all Obama's fault that we never went back to the moon. If memory serves correctly, we went to the moon in '69 and Obama was born in '64, which means he was five at the time, so it's been his fault since he was five years old that we never went back.

Well, now we have a MAGA president who will get us not just to the moon, but to Mars as well! He understands well that the moon is a part of Mars, so he'll advise the new Space Corps on how to get there. We can't rely on NASA any more, because, as you know, they're part of the great climate change hoax, and so not to be trusted.

To infinity (or at least to the moon) and beyond! It could be a new political slogan for Buzz...er Trump.
