WASHINGTON — President Trump on Sunday shrugged off the brutal dismembering of Jamal Khashoggi, a Washington Post columnist, just days after a United Nations report described how a team of Saudi assassins called Mr. Khashoggi a “sacrificial animal” before his murder. The U.N. report urged an F.B.I. investigation into the slaying. But in an interview with NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Mr. Trump said the episode had already been thoroughly investigated. He said the Middle East is “a vicious, hostile place” and noted that Saudi Arabia is an important trading partner with the United States. Mr. Trump also said he might not raise the issue of election interference when he meets with President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia next week.

Embarrassing as Hell. Does not raise the issue of a cruel murder by an "ally" with the culprit, and once again is prepared to let Putin off the hook vis-a-vis 2016 and ongoing Russian election meddling.

The Khashoggi murder already investigated as Trump says? Yes ... by the Royal Saudi killers themselves.

Remember all of this Trump giving America another ethical black eye as you step into the voting booth on 3 November 2020.

S.A. top brass brutally kills a journalist, but because they are an 'important' trading partner(that means Trumps family will be making money somehow, someway from the Saudis) Trump ignore their crimes.. BTW S.A. is maybe the top sponsor of M.E. terrorism, and OBL was a Saudi, as were most of the 9/11 terrorists.

3...2....1..... To the Trumpsters defending and excusing both TRUMP and the killer SAUDIS!!!!
 
Trump does not deserve fairness, but to be fair I suspect just about any of the last several American presidents would find a way to avoid doing anything harsh with the Saudis.

That said, I would not be in the least bit surprised if Trump also had something nefarious to gain from this on the side.

Possibly true but they wouldn't try to provide nuclear technology to SA
