Both are right-wing sites, but the second one involves sworn testimony to Congress. The odds of it being both 52 countries for the year and 52 countries for the last three weeks is too low to consider the Governor made an honest statement. Did he mention as source better than sworn testimony to Congress? No, he didn't. He took what is probably a valid number and pulled the time period out of his ass. That's called lying.

What part do you have grasping at the fact that Abbott has sent his National Guard to the border previously. He just recently sent 1000 to assist border patrol due to the massive influx of illegals. He did not lie.

2. Deny them the basics of hygiene.
3. No beds.
4. Ignore them dying.
5. Totally not a concentration camp.

It doesn't matter that you don't like the term, you shouldn't like the term. You also shouldn't support them.

And coming up with sanitized terms for the camps doesn't change what you are supporting: Toddlers dying while the guards don't give a ****.

You aren't talking to an idiot. Abbott claims he deployed 1000 more troops to the border after arresting migrants from 52 countries this month (three weeks). The article says in 2017, individuals from 151 countries were taken into custody. That's 25 less countries than all the countries in the world and one of them is the Vatican. That would leave just 24 countries that didn't have individuals taken into custody for crossing the southern border in 2017. That sounds far fetched to me.

So let's write a headline that doesn't show bias, such as: Governor Abbott deploys 1000 more National Guard to the southern border, bringing the total to 2000 with 200 more from other states. That headline is true if the governor used National Guard from Texas. They don't have to be from Texas for a governor to deploy them. Texas has a present population around 29 million people and people in the National Guard are paid for their service. If they have to do something, it comes with the job.

You're the one using articles to support your opinion and those article aren't news, they're op eds. That means they have an opinion decided for the lazy who can't make up their own opinion. I'm not going to look thru a whole thread to find some article someone mentions, they can post it again, if it's important to them. Most of the time articles are crap.

If tRump wasn't such an idiot, there wouldn't be a problem on the border, no matter how many arrived. They didn't have to be detained in most cases. Other states besides those border states have courts, too. They should have used them. We should have had ambassadors in those counties like we once did, when asylum seekers turned themselves in to our embassies.

Where is the news showing what's happening in the triangle countries where most immigrants are coming from?

It doesn't take much of a mind to do things better than tRump. He doesn't study things and does things impulsively in a self serving manner.

Take a look at the thread again, the link you are *itching about was not and is not mine, I did not post it or link to it. I just mentioned that it was an older link from 2014 and pointed out that it was written about then President Obama. Your anger is in the wrong direction if the link is your problem.

But it is hard to take anyone halfway serious on anything they comment on when they use childish name labels like tRump or call the POTUS an idiot. He is a billionaire and IS POTUS, if that makes him an idiot, well, you don't get there being an idiot.

tRump's money is inherited and he's a failure at business. He isn't a stable genius as he has claimed. He's not stable and not a genius. Find a person in Mensa who claims tRump is a genius.

When I read an article and particularly an op ed, I look for bias. If it's based on anything that is shown to support it, I check it out. I want the source and not an opinion about what the source says. Generally, I just want the news and not an opinion. I like the old days when you could watch the news for a half hour or hour and be done with it, until the next day. You just considered it a way to keep informed and didn't even bother discussing it, nearly all the time. There were better things to do.

Today, biased sites say things as if they are news that are outright lies.

Your failure to grasp why the parents took the journey is pathetic They have a choice, face starvation in Guatemala, persecution in Honduras and El Salvador, or take a chance with America, to which they are not given accurate information.

With those choices the right thing to do is offer empathy, sympathy, and care for those children until their situations are sorted out. But, they are being neglected, and you don't give a damn.

And Trump is cutting aid to those countries, which will make families more desperate, give more customers to the criminal gangs, and more recruits to the criminal gangs.

Trump's kneejerk answers to illegal immigration are making it worse, and will inspire a new crop of radicalized young people who hate America.

Same with his actions against Iran. Iran was taking steps toward becoming a peaceful, productive member of the international community, and Trump pulled the rug out from underneath them, is pushing them to desperate moves, and doesn't think this will increase the number of people worldwide who are willing to give up their lives to fight against America?


Trump's mouth-frothing rally cries are not good policy and are making things worse that he supposedly wants to fix. And his supporters are giving him credit. So what if he's making things worse, they say -- at least he's trying. WTF.

tRump failed at what he promised to do. Mexico didn't pay for a wall like he claimed and neither did the US. tRump can claim tariffs are paid by the countries he imposes tariffs on, but all economists know that isn't the case. Even Republicans know better than that. tRump failed at business and has failed as a President. That isn't an opinion, it's a fact. tRump claimed he would drain the swamp of lobbyists and put lobbyists in all major executive departments, it was just talk or lies.

An illegal child got sick? And? Im trying to understand what your point is... Its a child that should not be in this country that was mistreated and thrown in an unknown country by his parents who broke the law by doing so... What do you want people to do? There are already millions and millions of dollars spent every freaking year, these people know the risks and are still willing to take them, how is this anyone's fault but the parents/immigrants?

Its like playing hot potato and if this sick child falls into US custody its somehow Trups fault for everything, so stupid.

I swear people are so ignorant, there are more and more anti Americans in America which is why this country is going down the toilet, you people refuse to help your country when its suffering the most.

I dont want anyone to get hurt, child or adult, but at some point this border issue needs to stop because its really hurting Americans and the wages that are simply staying stagnant ontop of all the government programs that are running out of money due to an influx of people every year, so instead of actual Americans using these programs, we are supporting illegals.

Im an immigrant, my parents filled out paperwork and came to this country the right way, but seeing all this stupid outcry over people who are hell bent over breaking the laws which then has a trickle down affect of hurting all the people who are citizen in american economy is just idiotic, and then we have to defend them which makes it even worse.

Stop hating on your own country and taking things for granted, all these hate being thrown around the president who is doing an amazing job considering the constant obstruction he is getting by the anti-American democrats is beyond ridiculous.

Hurts my brain trying to understand why American parents who go to jail for trying to steal some milk for their kids because they cant afford it dont get any sympothy yet law breakers do on a consistent basis, what a disgusting time to live in America right now.

Most of the homeless live in democrat cities. I don't see photos of miles of homeless occupied tents along Idaho highways. I see plenty along SF streets. And I don't notice any public washrooms. Even in sanctuary cities.
