Huffington Post Bans "Dozens" of Anti-Vaxxers

Your statement that vaccines kill viruses was not a generalization. It was an ignorant false statement.

No, it was a simple, accurate statement. And your own post stands as proof. I see you cannot actually support your accusation...while I did refute it...with your own words.

Actually, so far all your posts stand as evidence that you appear quite the low-information poster on this subject.

Ah...then my other question is indeed valid: for any given issue, is every opinion legitimate?

And btw, by no means do I believe that the anti-vax crowd is heavily weighted towards the conservative side.

"...for any given issue, is every opinion legitimate?"

That decision should be left to the reader not the editor.

G4N is an antivaxxer

Anyone who has any concerns or criticisms of vaccines is labelled an anti-vaxxer. That is how the drug companies are winning the controversy.

If I say that drug companies are not required to adequately test all their vaccines for safety, I am an anti-vaxxer. If I say anything in any way critical of any vaccine or vaccine ingredient, I am an anti-vaxxer.

The whole debate has gone insane.

You said you wanted to shut down ideas with censorship. I'm just wondering if you could tell us what that would entail. The only thing apparent is that you don't want to answer or can't answer that question.

The original post has everything you need. I’ll refer you to it as many times as necessary. We’ll go as slow as you like. You’ll understand by next March.

Lots of arguments deserve to be eliminated. It is important that imbeciles—anti-vaxxers, global warming deniers, etc.—be reminded that they are imbeciles as much as possible, for their own benefit, as well as our entertainment. Shutting down their ideas with mockery or censorship is a win-win situation in almost every case.

Oh you must be an easy person to live with.

So, what you mean is that you are afraid to debate people with ideas other than yours and would rather silence them. Thanks for admitting what we've been saying about the left for a long time.

They can't help it. It's because they "know" all their ideas are correct.

Translated: While I used the last half hour to come up with a really good explanation for why I favor censorship, I couldn't do it and so will continue to resort to personal invective to cover my inadequacy.

See, not that hard to figure out.

I disagree. I believe an editor of a newspaper has a responsibility not to publish information that has been established as dangerous information.

Do you think it would be acceptable for the Huff Po to print an op-ed piece on creating the next round up and incarceration of Jewish people?

The discussion can occur in a more appropriate place.

Nice rhetoric. However, this is not a matter of opinion, but verifiable and objective evidence. The rhetoric you are using is typical of the conspiracy theorists. Your ignorance is not equal to the knowledge of the medical community .

So we should let the medical community become dictators?

Some of us have a more holistic, or natural, approach to health. The medical community, overall, is strongly opposed to most natural approaches to health. Should we all be forced into the mainstream medical ideology?

:doh

The current measles outbreaks in the US are a very good example that they are wrong. The proof would be degrading of herd immunity.

(not dangerous? Jeebus)

There are all kinds of criticisms of vaccines. The measles outbreaks are unrelated to most of them.

Before Trump it was still common for leftists to be against big business. This why HuffPo was once open to vaccine skepticism.

Vierually every major corporation has a rainbow flag on its Twitter profile. There are some right-wing corporations like Chick-Fil-A, but they’re a small minority.

I think it depends on what kind of business. Are the big oil companies progressive now? Big Tech, Big Drug, Big Food, all may be progressive now. Maybe Big Banks.

There are all kinds of criticisms of vaccines. The measles outbreaks are unrelated to most of them.

But not the use of vaccines to help prevent communicable disease thru herd immunity and the cost/benefit analysis that is now obvious.

Not only that, it is current and dangerous and anti-vax ignorance can create direct harm from the less informed and the willfully ignorant that slurp it up.

So we should let the medical community become dictators?

Vaccines are not forced by law on anyone, so your drama is a bit much.

(And no, kids do not have "a right" to attend public school. They can be home schooled or find them a private one. The military is under a different jurisdiction)

I only read HP occasionally, but my general opinion of it was that their health news tended to be open-minded. They did not seem strictly pro-mainstream medicine.

So their decision to stamp out all criticisms of vaccines seems out of character. So I wonder exactly where the pressure came from.

Maybe they made the responsible decision based, for example, on prior misguided anti-vax information that vaccines caused autism, which was one of the factors leading to parents choosing not to vaccinate their kids and thus encouraging the current measles outbreaks and causing a dangerous public health crisis.?

And, quite often, that is what causes death. Do you remember people dying of polio? A lot of older folks did, before vaccines. Or, how about smallpox? The HVP vaccine fulminates 90% of cervical cancers.

I wouldn't be surprised if YOUR parents were responsible and had you vaccinated.

We have a right to know what the risks are for each vaccine. People like you want the risks to be denied and hidden, so the "ignorant" public won't make the "wrong" decisions.

The risks, albeit miniscule, are well known. Every drug manufactured has to be trialled in order to ascertain what risks there may be, and every drug package you buy or have prescribed contains a leaflet listing all possible contraindications and who should not take it. Read them, ask your medic. There's no excuse for ignorance.

HOW DO YOU KNOW they are safe for most people? HOW DO YOU KNOW the dramatic increases in autoimmune and chronic diseases are completely unrelated to vaccines?

I'll tell you how you know -- you know because that's what the drug companies tell you.

Or I can just look around at the millions of people who have had them, and aren't growing a second head, or speaking in tongues.

Sorry, lady, as I said, not gonna beat you up anymore, I feel kinda bad for you...but of everything being discussed here, you're actually the most dangerous, by spreading this misinformation.

There is no debate there is just facts vs fantasy. You fall on the fantasy side
