Fact check: Trump, 15 false claims over 76 minutes

That’s a really good question with probably several good answers, but the root of his support, IMO, is that he’s the guy who speaks to their basest emotions (fear, prejudice, selfishness, and pettiness) and tells them that they’re right and everyone else is out to destroy America.

That and they’re incredibly stupid.

I don’t think most of them are incredibly stupid. Stupid about politics, world affairs and government, maybe, but no necessarily stupid in general.

Admittedly, the stupid are well represented.

But you’re right about the validation of “fear, prejudice, selfishness, and pettiness (as well as a general sense that they should be entitled, but that the brown and black folk should not).”

So, "They want to destroy you" is just exaggeration? Good to know he doesn't really hate liberals, and isn't really trying to fan the flames of hatred and division.

And FYI, the FBI was conducting a legitimate investigation for legitimate reasons. That "spying" rhetoric is just another false narrative from Trump. But you go ahead and keep drinking what he's handing out, calling it Kool-aid.
I am glad you grasp some of the humor in the situation.

However, there is nothing false or amusing about the spying rhetoric. That is cold serious and it does not come from President Trump.

Not meaning to be pedantic, but, as you no doubt know, stupid and ignorant aren’t synonymous terms. Trumpsters may be (they really are) ignorant of politics, world affairs and government. They are certainly stupid, and incredibly gullible, to follow Trump.

This coming from people like you who refuse to acknowledge any lies from your own party.

And save us the libertarian lean tag because you are are as liberal as they come on here.

I have no party.

Yes, Democrats lie, too.

But Trump is the champion in that area, not Republicans, not the party, Trump.

Well, there were enough “man on the street” interviews of people in line for the Trump show (and it is a show), who said “trump doesn’t lie”, to suspect there might have been some expection.

Either that, or a confirmation of the fact that this audience doesn’t mind being lied to.

The cultists are never going to care what Trump does or says. This has been known as well.

Like I said early in the thread. I guess it depends on who you wanna' believe.

Americans who count MSNBC and CNN as one of their top two news sources are somewhat more likely to reject Trump’s falsehoods but are also more likely to believe false statements made by Democrats. On average, 44 percent of MSNBC viewers and 40 percent of CNN viewers believe false Democratic claims, compared with 30 percent of those who say MSNBC is not a primary news source and 28 percent who do not primarily watch CNN

I hear they didn't air the speech. They must have sent some pimple face to listen and take notes though. How else would they come up with these stats?
Trump speaks to his crowd. It is all good. It isn't like he was trying to convince the rabid AOC crowd of anything.

What amazed me was how many people waited in line for such a long time. That is dedication. Hot, humid, rain. That's some tough cookies.

Trump tells them what they want to believe. They accept it due to confirmation bias. They actually believe that Trump is telling them the truth, and that anyone who counters his lies is suffering from TDS.

That's what candidates do. What the heck do you think Biden is bumbling about when he speaks? Of course one never knows if Joe is reminiscing or current. He changes his mind quite often.

Yep.
CNN reported that there were ONLY hundreds waiting in line. Liars.
Who fact checks these scoundrels?

I betcha they confused them with the counter protesters, then tripled the number to make it more impressive. Didn't they all fit in one bar?

Have you ever seen CNN fact check an Obama reelection campaign rally or a Clinton campaign rally?

Yeah, me neither.

You don't watch CNN so you would not know they fact check everybody.

WTF cares how many people were "waiting in line"? The important fact is that Trump is down 9 points against Biden in Florida. He's not winning.

I know what they report across the net and social media like Twitter.

They must have forgotten to fact check Obama. CNN compares Trump lies to past presidents while leaving out Obama's whopper of the year... "if you like your health care plan, you can keep your health care plan."

No one will "expose" anything. Stop believing fake news.

I bet you still believe the presidential polls prior to the 2016 election too.

The best way to help cult members is to just ask them basic factual questions.

Trump said:

"And we've ended the last administration's cruel and heartless law on American energy. What they were doing to our energy should never be forgotten. The United States is now the number-one producer of oil and natural gas anywhere in the world."

When did we become the number-one producer of oil and natural gas in the world?

:popcorn2:

Fact check: Trump's Orlando rally featured more than 15 false claims over 76 minutes

That's a lot of whoppers.

I'm still somewhat amazed (much less today than I was a year ago) that his supporters like being lied to so often. I'd consider it insulting my intelligence if the guy I backed lied to me over 10 times per hour.

What gives with this? Why do they accept it?

Its because most educated people don't buy these kinds of stories anymore. If you haven't noticed the same provider of this report is the same cable news network who has tanked. CNN viewer ratings are now the lowest in the industry because of fake claims falling under Nickelodeons ratings. Pretty laughable.

Second, the new Liberal qualifiers for lies are things Liberal don't agree with or if Trump misses a financial claim or number claim by a few points.

Once Kessler and his 3 team degenerates came out with over 10,000 lies and 29 lies per day it got a lot of attention. Once the questions started we all found out that his claim of lies were things he believes are misrepresented. And if the same information is tweeted, repeated, discussed or claimed Kessler adds a multiplier to this supposed lie and it turns out to now be 800 lies because its repeated.

Once everyone found out that a single lie now turns into thousands with an accountability no one in history has ever been held too, this was laughed at and determined to be what it was, Fake news. Now only the dumbest of Liberals continue to taunt people with it.

"The United States likely surpassed Russia and Saudi Arabia to become the world's largest crude oil producer earlier this year, based on preliminary estimates in EIA's Short-Term Energy Outlook (STEO)" Sep 12, 2018
The United States is now the largest global crude oil producer - Today in Energy - U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA)
I hear the popcorn will go down easier with a little more butter.... :2razz:
