First, it will have nothing to do with Trump. Although I believe most GOP politico's do not like Trump, but they are afraid of his base and have learned the golden rule over the past 20 years, stay together and vote together for the GOP candidate no matter who he is!! This is especially important since the party base is not the majority and is getting smaller each year. The real reason trump will win is the total stupidity of those who call them selves Dems. While the GOP party sticks together, the Dems look at themselves as progressives or Black or moderates or young or older and not as a consolidated Dem party member. We saw it clearly in the 2016, when a Dem does not get the candidate who he sees as "one with my ideas", he will either vote for the GOP candidate in protest or just not vote. That kind of person got Trump elected in 2016 and will do so again in 2020. The Dem progressives are hinting that if they do not get the candidate of their choice they will again stay home or vote for trump. The other Dem groups are doing the same. This seems especially true of the Black voters who are saying if you so not pick one of ours, you lose our vote as it will be a sign of taking us for granted. So the Dems can not choose a candidate or candidates that meet all the criteria of all of their groups and so will lose voters and the election. The Dems learned nothing from 2016 while the GOP did.

And yet the people spoke in 2018

You aren't wrong in your general assessment of the Dems, but they have been that way for a long time. Will Rogers once said that he wasn't a member of an organized party; he was a Democrat. The key, obviously, is to energize as much of the party as possible. They did that admirably in 08 and 12 by running an integrated ticket. Its one of the reasons that a large number of people find the idea of a Biden/Harris ticket so attractive.

So we shall see what develops and how it plays out.

Trump, with his high-handed antics, still has another year or so to lose more white women and white college educated (suburban) voters.

Trump will hold his base and bleed off more normally Democrat voters (again) than people expect, including minorities. With a robust economy at his back, he will win easily. Only an economic meltdown, something that looks very unlikely, could damage his chances. All the Democrats are wedded to the fringe nuttery of AOC and the green new deal. Watching Biden reverse himself on positions he's held for decades, is rather painful. That and his obviously slipping mind make him doubtful as the Dem nominee but one never knows. What is certain is that Trump would squash Biden/Harris like a grape. No current Democrat can win, most especially Biden.

Too early to tell, and there are no guarantees for anything, but Trump has an uphill battle to say the least. In 2016 he was a big blank page that everyone who felt neglected and overlooked were able to fill up with visions of exactly what they wanted. He was able to bash the entire system from top to bottom while being able to say that he held absolutely no responsibility. He faced a candidate with decades of attacks and biases piled on her shoulders who also did him the favor or running a bad campaign. And with all of that, he was able to barely scrape out a victory. This time around he has to run on an actual record of abysmal governing, dozens of ethical abuses and scandals, no real victories to speak of other than 2 SCOTUS judges and a tax bill that hasn't really done much of anything for Trump voters. If the current trend with Iran continues he's going to be accused of ginning up a war with Iran. NK negotiations that he held up high like some kind of accomplishment have all but crumbled in the most embarrassing fashion possible. Trade deals are not coming to fruition and the few announcements that are being made are quickly found to be misrepresented as soon as they are announced. 2020 will be interesting.

Trump will win against Biden. Biden, the career DC politician, will win the nomination but he won't win the presidency because I can't see the progressives voting for this old white man who proves himself to be nothing but a pandering flip-flopper.

More importantly, if it ain't broke, why fix it? "It's the economy, stupid".

Yep, and Biden will be older on inauguration day than Reagan was on leaving office. They might have a plan to attach their preferred candidate to Biden as VP and then hope the doddering old man can be removed. It might be a case where the 25th amendment actually applies.

The reason DJT will win in 2020 is quite simple. He's a damn good leader. Period.

Normal people know it, the left knows it. And the left doesn't have a viable candidate.

Creepy Uncle Joe? Old, white, has-been. His time came and went. Fauxahontas? She's a joke. Comrade BS? Old, white, has marbles in his mouth, rich, but doesn't want you to be. I think he's actually the left's best bet. And then what's his name? Beta. From Texas down there. He's a nutjob.

God bless DJT.

True and good points but he has at least a few options for the next 18 months to deal with all that, and he can use all of them:
- convince enough people this is fake news and his is a Presidency filled with accomplishments (watch Fox news - they like to list them)
- take credit for good economy (despite of course Presidents not having much to do with their current economies)
- get Russians to count the votes - now he has power of Presidency to arrange this too
- create a crisis where people will forget all this other stuff, e.g. get himself to be a war President

If Trump holds onto the presidency in 2020 it will because
1- elections in some states involve highly irregular activities designed to fix it for him
2- results are rejected and contested in some areas
3- the Russians helped him - again
4- Bill Barr and other official pervert their role and function
5 - Trump creates a phony wag-the-dog crisis in the last month of the campaign just to help him win

otherwise, if it is fair and open, Trump will lose.

I've thought about this. Biden and Harris or Biden and Warren?
Ick...

LOL! With a robust economy, his numbers and approval ratings are in the toilet.

Still, it's fun to see you entertain such fantasies to avoid the pain.

It continues to astound how leftists delude themselves.

Get your Kleenex now while supplies last. You'll need them again.

It's not that astounding. Leftists are slow learners. It takes a while for things to sink in with them. After being lead around by the nose for so long by their media, you really can't expect much out of them. ;)

I don't think it was the Russians helping Trump. It was ALIENS!! That's it! Trump was colluding with aliens to cast a hypnotic malaise over the voters. It's the only possible way for Hillary to have lost.:lamo

They are still clinging to their impeachment dreams, media gurus...oh, and over sampled Democrat pollsters. ;)

I'm thinkin' Comrade BS/Fauxhontas. Two hard core leftists, both globalists, socialists, and both crazier than ****house rats. They're perfect. :)

If the dems stick to the male-HRC-candidate Joe Biden, then yes, Trump wins.

If they pick Sanders, Tulsi, Warren, Yang - Trump will lose. Especially to Sanders. Sanders will utterly eviscerate Trump in the debates.
