"Americans don't have a right to a climate capable of sustaining human life"

The US government has not disputed that climate breakdown is real, or that an environmental crisis looms. In fact, government experts generally agree with the plaintiffs’ experts on the science. Government attorneys have instead argued that the court does not have the legal authority to tell the federal government what to do about climate change, and that a trial would be too burdensome. They have also argued that Americans don’t have a right to “a climate capable of sustaining human life”.

this is not about the validity of the trial, or whether climate change is real.

It's about whether you, the person reading this, think American's have a right to a climate capable of sustaining human life.

I say yes, because I want to live and I want my grandkids and their grandkids to live.

That is one of the most disturbing things I have read in some time.

Great to know that our government believes that a sustainable climate is a privilege.

This is a democracy, and people deserve to get what they want, good and hard. This is, apparently, the government that they want. So enjoy, America. Let us know when you are ready to cry uncle with this nonsense.

I know what the rightists here are going to say. They are going to say that there is no such thing as a right to a sustainable climate in the constitution. Therefore any attempt to control the climate is unconstitutional.

The government hasn't done what the people it supposedly represents want/need in awhile.

But that's because it has a different constituency.

It is a bit narcissistic to think the universe gives a damn what you want.

Will the day to not get dark. I can use a little more light when I am mowing the backyard tonight. Thanks.
    Thank you

Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness: the arguments for gay marriage and clean air are remarkably similar.

Republicans of course, don't care about the constitution or the bill of rights. They simply want to impose their will on others. They want to rape the land and commandeer its resources and force everyone to suffer the consequences the same way they want to rape women and force them to have babies then demand parental rights.

A novel way to try to get what you want! Ask a federal court to order it! Not going to work.
This needs to be handled by congress and the president not the courts. What ever the ruling
    it will be appealed.
You might as well FedEx the election to Donald Trump,” Hickenlooper said when asked by CNN’s Jake Tapper if Sanders’s embrace of the “democratic socialist” label makes him unelectable.
