Mexican military deployed throughout the country as part of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador’s vow to do more to apprehend migrants headed to the United States, have officially begun targeting foreigners who have hitched rides aboard a freight train known as “The Beast” to get to the U.S.-Mexico border, local media reported Sunday.

Mexican National Guard held up the “La Bestia” train in an unpopulated area near Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas, a city north of the Mexico-Guatemala border, where migrants have been crossing into the country.

The operation marked the first of its kind since López Obrador and President Trump reached a deal late Friday, in which the U.S. would hold off on tariffs against Mexican imports if the government did more to prevent people from traveling through the country.

It is good that Trump got a deal done with Mexico however the fat man's approach with China will likely lead to a depression. His idiocy is holding the economy back.

Secret deal or today's lie, there seems to be activity even if there is all kinds of consequences. But that is what Trump supporters wanted, a bull in a china shop mentality.
 
When I read about Trump thumping his chest and threatening tariffs and Mexico almost instantaneously capitulating, I smelled a scam on the American people.

Here is a scene from The Big Bang Theory that captures the essence of what I suspected. In this scene, Mexico is played by Leonard, Penny's boyfriend. Trump is played by Penny's dad, and America is just played.

We are just going to ignore the fact that two new and extremely important commitments: Mexico’s agreement to hit specific, measurable goals and put serious manpower to the task.

We are just going to ignore the fact that President Andrés Manuel López Obrador commented on what the new deal was and his guarantee to take control of illegal immigration a national security priority for his country dedicating 6000 troops to the task.

We are just going to ignore the fact that Mexico has now agreed to hold refugees in their country while awaiting legal status in the US which was not a consideration in the original request.

This is same behavior that elected Trump to office. The desperate lying and fake claims over and over and over and over.

If Trump cured cancer the NY Times, CNN, MSNBC, all of the Democrats and half the Republicans would find a reason to sue and get a judge to impose an injunction until a "real" president gets into office.
