Company part-owned by Jared Kushner got $90m from unknown offshore investors since 2017

Jared’s susceptibility to foreign influence has been a major point of concern for security experts.

A real estate company part-owned by Jared Kushner has received $90m in foreign funding from an opaque offshore vehicle since he entered the White House as a senior adviser to his father-in-law Donald Trump. Investment has flowed from overseas to the company, Cadre, while Kushner works as an international envoy for the US, according to corporate filings and interviews. The money came through a vehicle run by Goldman Sachs in the Cayman Islands, a tax haven that guarantees corporate secrecy. Kushner, who is married to Trump’s elder daughter Ivanka, kept a stake in Cadre after joining the administration, while selling other assets. His holding is now valued at up to $50m, according to his financial disclosure documents.

Cadre’s foreign funding could create hidden conflicts of interest for Kushner as he performs his work for the US government. “It will cause people to wonder whether he is being improperly influenced,” said Jessica Tillipman, a lecturer at George Washington University law school, who teaches government ethics and anti-corruption laws. The names of the foreigners investing in Cadre via Goldman Sachs are not disclosed by the companies, which are not required to make the information public. Two sources familiar with the firm said much of the money came to the Cayman Islands vehicle from a second offshore tax haven, while some came from Saudi Arabia.

Offshore firms within offshore firms to mask identities. This is the failsafe method used to hide "pay to play" transactions with corrupt government officials.

What’s the big deal? Just an oversight!

Hillary Clinton was paid for a speech! TO LIBERALS!

Also Vince Foster.

She sold all our nukes to the Russians for fifty bajillion.

I'd say it shocks me that Trump Fan Nation thinks Kushner is honest, but then again, it doesn't. He's as crooked as his father, and his father in law loves him for it.

I am deeply worried about the next few decades.

Once the policy debate shifts from the best thing to do in a consensus reality to what consensus reality and thus what might be best to do based on each version IS, I don't see how it shifts back. Unless, maybe, all the Trump supporters take acid one night.

And she did that that while she was getting shot at in Iraq. That's hardcore corruption, right there.

I'm not sure you have that right. I'm pretty sure she dodged machinegun fire while delivering unmarked bills to an Iranian family member of Obama.

Lol, as though you'd care. We've had numerous Trump officials and friends charged with crimes and Trump supporters pretend that it means nothing or that it's no big deal.

I will commend you for being honest. You don't care one bit that an advisor to the president who was denied a security clearance until the president overrode the professionals is taking in millions through secretive and completely anonymous methods and you don't care one bit about what that means or any of the ugly things that could mean regarding national security or top level decisions being made. Politics over country. There are a number of people that likely would be ok with that as long as they get a few policy wins along the way. Or maybe they'd be spiteful enough to be ok with it as long as it pisses off the other side, but they'll pretend it's not ok with them. But not you. You are 100% perfectly fine with such actions. That's the kind of honesty that is rarely seen around these parts.

Cheers to you sir.

Didn't care when Clinton Bush or Obama folk had stories written about them either....call me when they're charged.

I'm guessing Jared is pretty sensitive about adhering to the law after his father spent time in the pokey thanks to Christy...imo

Agreed. I was riding somewhere with a co-worker today who was listening to Limbaugh as we were talking. And I heard him numerous times say that the Mueller report said that Trump was not guilty of any crimes and other insane claims that anyone who had read even the summaries would know are lies and have been debunked dozens if not hundreds of times, but people like Rush and Hannity and the entire conservative echo chamber keep repeating them anyways. It's really amazing.

Yes, and that was to bribe the Pakistanis to put an Osama lookalike in a compound and leak his presence. Probably the real Seth Rich, all bearded-out and beturbaned.

Ok ok, fair enough, I haven't heard that one yet. But I wouldn't be surprised if someone said it, somewhere.

That's funny. You started a thread about the "deepstate" and I saw no mention of "I don't care, call me when they are charged". Instead I saw nothing but giddiness about the utterly ridiculous idea that the deepstate is about to start crumbling and being arrested. I have a pretty good feeling that if you were around in the obama days or the 2016 election days I'd see you posting similar stuff about Obama or Clinton.

It appears we need just a little more info before freaking out, I mean I do not like the idea either but we may be jumping the gun.

glad you have been keeping up. a Jared financial story is no comparison to a Comey McCabe Strzok story based on actions taken by bias corrupt and fired agency heads imo.

The story is "SPYGATE" and it's real.....Obama Administration has already been chastised by a Fed judge in the past for abusing NSA tools...look it up.
