A Slew of Tell-all Books are coming ...

So what you're saying is anyone who writes an insider's view of the WH cannot be trusted because they were not under oath when they wrote it. You've got it down to a pretty simple format.

Comparing a monetary intent in "writing a tell all" with testimony under oath is laughable. Yes if you insist I admit it, I believe testimony under oath to be MORE RELIABLE than a tell all written for profit. YUP....I will wear that one gladly.

I'm in the process of reading Bob Woodward's Fear: Trump in the White House and I'm going to predict that as soon as Trump is out of office there is going to be a flood of tell-all books about this presidency. I'm not talking about the reporters Outsider-Looking-In books that have so far appeared, but rather books by people who were in the room, people who lived first-hand the nightmare known as the Trump presidency.

So many people have already left this administration, either voluntarily or otherwise, you might ask "Why haven't their books already appeared?" Some have, but I would suggest that many of them fear what this unhinged man might do in retaliation as president. Once Trump is out of office, his ability to wreak havoc on their lives will be greatly diminished.

If even half of what has been disclosed so far is even remotely accurate, I'm looking forward to hearing from people like General Kelly, General Mattis, Rex Tillerson, and others.
Is Amazon taking preorders for January 2025 yet?

Why? Are you of the opinion that no one tells the truth unless they are under oath?

Nope, I am of the opinion that most if not all of these "tell alls" written for profit are an effort to take advantage of what the public perceives as a hot topic. They categorically lack the context of history because the history they are attempting to write about is still being baked. The are invariably biased toward the bias of the author and THEY DON'T MEAN ANYTHING. As I posted, what you can see with your eyes is not crazy enough for you!

These people are not writing history books. They are saying "I was there. This is what happened when I was there." The fact that someone is willing to pay to read what they have to say is irrelevant.

Based on your logic, no news report can be trusted. They must all be suspect be cause they report on contemporary events.

Wrong, you should read what is written by journalists and most particularly journalists with established reputations as journalists. Bob Woodward for example is known to be a stickler for detail demanding corroboration for everything he writes. In fact, of the two of them, in their day Bernstein was the Cowboy, not Woodward.

A tell all is being written from one viewpoint, WITHOUT corroboration by nature and by somebody that is not schooled nor experienced in journalism.

Except that when several books tell of the same events from different perspectives, and the accounts coincide, particularly if they are not quoting each other, then that in itself is corroboration. Further, one does not have to be schooled in journalism to describe events and conversations to which they were eyewitnesses.

Many books were written by the principle players in the Watergate scandal that toppled the Nixon presidency. From a now distant historical perspective, we know what happened, largely due to those people writing of their own experiences.

Liars cut deals to get leaner sentences everyday. ...little game Feds play..you know. Tells all those juicy lies:lol:

Actually, according to Woodward's book, many people tried to do something, but the president was unhinged. He would sit in meetings with the JCS at the Pentagon and berate the generals unmercifully. He would do the same to his cabinet. Sometimes he would declare defiant orders only to completely forget about the order by the next day. Many times he would have meetings to rehash issues that everyone else had thought had been decided. They called them "Groundhog meetings." He would call in acknowledged experts who would lay out the facts of a given situation and Trump would rage "I don't want to hear that!"

Numerous people in the administration have either been dismissed or resigned because they were completely flummoxed by their relationship with Trump. Sometimes they were forced out because of their dysfunctional relationship with someone like Ivanka Trump.

Yet they sat on it and kept their mouths shut.

Sure there will be more books, supply and demand. There are plenty of TDS out there, dying to read dirt on trump as you have demonstrated. And there are plenty who know how to take advantage of golden opportunity.

TDS? Dying to read dirt on trump? All one has to do is watch the national news on any major station to see and hear our president in action and watch and listen to him make totally untrue statements day after day. The only folks I see with that dreaded tds are the folks twisting themselves into knots trying to defend our ***** grabbing president. You know the guy, cheats on his numerous wives and lusts after his daughter and the religious right love him. It's tragic what the right has become in their hatred of the libs. They accept any behavior as acceptable as long as a republican wins.

First of all, many of these people need jobs. They need their careers. Most staffers are not multi-millionaires who can say "Take this job and shove it!" They need to look out for themselves and their families first. They know what happens when someone crosses Trump. The last thing they want is motivate the president to go after them. That's why I'm saying many of these books will come out after Trump leaves office, when he has less power to destroy their lives.

I understand. But the dollars from a tell all book in the heat of it sure would've took the sting off of it don't you think?

Yeah, no doubt they will have to build a special congressional library for all of them.

then come the tours, children from Sunday school, and we'll all review the new history books, historical writings of Trump, Trumpism, by guys like Meachum, Vidal ( ok, RIP but the new budding Vidals whos tomes are dying to come out) and how a similar phenomena befell other nations ruled by dictators who clawed their way to power, legally, until they had the oligarchs in their pockets etc.

It’s pure blind bias to think it’s only on one side. There is no basic difference in the biases and hypocrisies. Libs has no prob, end with rapist Clinton, or the lies their side tells, or creepy lies space violations etc etc etc.
