Trump gets out of one more crisis of his own making. It was bull from the start.

I have no link, the news is just breaking now. I'm sure we'll all hear all about how he pulled Mexico's ass out of the fire, etc and yadda yadda yadda. Even his Republicans in Congress were opposed to this stupidity.

Pure propaganda. Eat it up righties.

Ya....uh...Trump won. Get used to it.

Ha ha ha ha, what a loser. Can't even solve the crisis he creates. Who didn't see this coming?

My God, are you people smoking something?

"I am pleased to inform you that The United States of America has reached a signed agreement with Mexico. The Tariffs scheduled to be implemented by the U.S. on Monday, against Mexico, are hereby indefinitely suspended," he said. "Mexico, in turn, has agreed to take strong measures to....stem the tide of Migration through Mexico, and to our Southern Border. This is being done to greatly reduce, or eliminate, Illegal Immigration coming from Mexico and into the United States. Details of the agreement will be released shortly by the State Department. Thank you!"

Trump was (apparently) successful in getting the cooperation of the Mexican government to help the US with the current illegal immigration crisis - that is (apparently) considered bad news to some folks.

Trump didn't create the border crisis, but he DID threaten to light a fire under Mexico's ass if they didn't take steps to decrease the crisis. Evidently Mexico didn't want their ass to get fired up.

Look. You should know by now that Trump is a master at using economics to get people to do what he wants them to do. This event is an undeniable and classic example of how he works.

Those folks are politics before country types but haven't we already determined this by how many cups of tears they fill?
Geeze, no wonder our rivers are overflowing. Thanks resisters. Lol!

This is one of the major reasons I support this president. He's not a do nothing DC as usual politician who bows down to other country's whims. He actually cares about doing his job, upholding his campaign promises, and protecting the sovereignty of the United States by protecting our borders.

Oh, grow up already with this "LIBRUL TREARZ!" stuff. It got old two years ago. You sound like ten years old boys with this stuff.

The gullibility, innocence and lack of knowledge on your part of how politics works is absolutely stunning. You're naive and have zero critical thinking. Don't you listen to the news at all? Trump's Republican Senators were against this stupid tariff threat on Mexico. Trump absolutely cannot afford to lose two things, his Congress and his base and the tariffs on Mexico would have gutted his base financially. He's a ****ing idiot but at least he has enough sense to listen to the 'big boys' that know wtf they're doing.

Trump suspended the tariffs because of this
Mexico Steps Up Illegal Immigration Enforcement After Trump’s Tariff Threat

The Mexican government is showing signs of increased illegal immigration enforcement and cooperation with their U.S. counterparts following President Donald Trump’s tariff threats.

Before the Right goes off on its Circle Jerk I would suggest you wait to see what we are paying Mexico for these "services" that is if the State Dept has the balls to tell us. If you think the threat of busting a big hole in the economy of the United States brought Mexico to its knees, I will have some of what you are drinking.

It pains me to point out that no standards were set for how Mexico was to meet some utterly opaque and non-existant set of requirements and while there has been much released about what Mexico was willing to do, NOTHING has still been announced regarding the standards they would be held to nor the cost to US tax payers for whatever Mexico is proposed to do.

What is the standard....whether Trump had a solid bowel movement a particular morning?

So the real question is.....Is Mexico doing ANYTHING different than they were already doing or is all this the usual Trumpian BS.

Gimmie a spoon! Trump flexed his muscles ... the dems wet themselves ... Mexico caved ... Trump looks like the heroic master negotiator. The dems continue to look like do-nothing sore losers. Delicious!

It's not true and it's pure propaganda. Those tariffs on Mexico were never going to happen, not even close. Mexico's President Andrés Manuel López Obrador is a populist, just like Trump. Mexico has been stopping immigrants at the border all along. They turn back 80% of the immigrants at the border, they always have. The numbers we see making it to the US border are the 20% that they let pass, those with papers. That's politics. Both presidents are populists and so they are both more than happy to pretend and play along, that's the truth. It's 100% propaganda for both.

Nothing has changed and nothing will change. You'll only hear more propaganda about Mexico turning people away at the border of Chiapas, but the numbers in caravans isn't going to change. Trump backed out of something he got himself tangled up in with his buffoonery. His republican Congress was not happy with him and he knew it, so he unstuck himself from a very sticky situation.

LOL, no. Time will tell, watch and see if the numbers go down or not long term. It's just one more time you've been had.

And there is the problem with so many of Trump's supporters. They are totally satisfied with Reality TV Governance, Show Governance. Nothing really happened but the "dems continue to Look Like do-nothing sore losers."

And that is enough for them. Never mind that farmers crops are under water. Their crops are rotting in silos. They might not even be able to get the next planting in the ground. You want to talk about crisis. THAT will be a crisis. But Climate Change is still a HOAX to the dear leader. Trump's Tariffs are nothing more than a tax on Americans that has not been voted by the Congress. Worse, Tariffs are the flattest, least progressive form of tax you can have. As such it is going to hit his base hard now that many of the latest tariffs on China exports to the US are for staple goods, the kinds of things people buy at WalMart.

The reason this Mexico Tariff farce was put to rest is because that would have been more tariffs on staple good and autos. GOOD LUCK WITH THAT Trumpets.

But "dems look like do-nothings". Delicious!"

CEMENT HEADS!

:2bigcry:

It's a win for the US, Mexico and Trump. Period. And a big loser for the dems who started soiling themselves two minutes after Trump introduced his tariff-stick.

How effective Mexico's border enforcement proves to be in curbing our own border mess will be determined in the months to come. At which time Trump will reevaluate Mexico's compliance with the agreement and act accordingly.

Its a NOTHING. Don't you get it! You already told yourself and us what YOU got out of it. Just because YOU think Entertainment is enough does not mean ANYTHING....DOES NOT MEAN A...N...Y....T....H....I....N....G

It raised the Trump Base pulse for a couple of days and allowed them to start another of their renowned Circle Jerks. Thats it....you already admitted it. My biggest fear is that you might actually be an American Citizen and that you actually VOTE!

You're the ideal citizen for the authoritarian state. You believe everything the state tells you.

What specifically did they agree to do?

:lamo It's killin' ya huh?! (LOVE the caps!! :2mad:)

Yeah well, whether this move will result in any measurable difference remains to be seen. However, for those keeping score ... it's huge. Today's developments changed the game as far as public perception goes. Trump was being accused of abusing the tariff option as a negotiating tool ... all we heard from the left was the usual pants wetting panic, feigned outrage and doom and gloom blathering. The ever-snarling, do-nothing but huff-and-puff House dems were even in the process of attempting to block Trump's Mexico tariff, and then POOF!... Mexico caved.

The lefty :spin:is in full tilt emergency mode right now 'cause this was a huge helping of crow for the sore losers to digest.

I think that some of the posters here should probably reassess their view of our President. He has a few faults, he's sometimes rude and crude, but he's nothing like the media/left wing narrative. That narrative is as phony as the Russia investigation.
With regards to this Mexico thing, I heard a report on NPR about Mexico's southern border. The Central Americans are getting in mostly by bribing the Mexican border guards. That sounds like something the Mexican government could address.
It's far cheaper for them than those tariffs would have been.

You mean the tariffs that we would have paid?

Bribing border guards is a surprise to you? You should count up the number of US Border guards that are bribed if you want a real surprise.
